Just received my Dana 70, thanks go out to DJ and Kyle from S.L. Customs LLC. Plan to start tearing it apart then paint it next week if I have any free time, and do a complete overhaul from the differential out.

why 7.17's? what are you running drivetrain wise? and tire size?

Finally had time to tear apart my 70 today, brakes were shot and both shafts had some rust. Ordered some new shoes, wheel cylinders, and seals. Parts are suppose to arrive tomorrow and will hopefully have it back together by Thursday if I have time between school and work.

Received my 12" Superlift springs today and had enough time after school to clean up and install the new parts on one side of my drum brakes.

About time for the transformation! Still have a little work to do on the Dana 70, clean off the spring perch welds, paint it, and reassemble.

Galloway's hasn't even started on my truck yet and I dropped it off Friday.....not too happy

Did they tell you they would start on it by today? If a shop is busy, it's not unheard of for it to take a few days before they start work on your vehicle. As long as they meet your agreed upon timeframe, what does it matter?

No date was "set" but I did say I wanted it back this week but that's out of the question. Idk when there going to start or finish and I'm not going to irritate them anymore by checking in every other day to see where there at.

....and I'm not going to irritate them anymore by checking in every other day....

Sometimes, that nets better results.

What work were you paying them to do?

A 1 ton swap under my yota basically swapping out my yota axles. What would yall do? Check in every couple days or let them call?

I would wait until they were supposed to have it ready, then call and ask if it is ready. If not, find out why not and what they are going to do about it. I hope you gave them a date when you talked to them about doing it.

They never told me a date. I said by the end of this week but that's not gonna happen. They can't tell me a date either. Every time I ask there like well it all depends etc etc etc so I just let it go

I mean a week for an axle swap is kinda had to do depending on what all they have to do. It took me about 7 hours to take out and swap my axles out for the same axles that I pulled with a little fab work. If they have to do gears and rebuild both axles new perches brakes drive shafts shock mounts steering. springs? It takes time to figure out stuff.
Not in anyway trying to make excuses for the shop but if a part has to be ordered or made it could take a couple days to show up. I just think a week is a little unrealistic for a swap like your wanting done.

Both axles are built from the differential out fully new everything. Kits for everything else from either Sky or WFO. Only thing that needing is to have my rear shaft shortened bc I'm lowering my truck. Rear springs are stayin where they are and new front springs are being installed with the full width solid axle kit from Sky. ALL parts are there.
