I am trying to charge some air shocks here and I'm having some issues. I've got a 20 cuft nitrogen tank with a regulator on it going to a hose with a chuck, I'm opening the valve, adjusting the regulator and hitting the schrader valve with the chuck and it doesn't seem to be doing anything. The shocks are fully extended.

That should work. Are you sure the regulator/hose/chuck all work? Is the any N in the shocks already?

that seems aggrevating. Trying to install fully extended shocks on a rig...

Jack it up and let them droop then set it down and do the other side.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure. The regulator is brand new as well as the hose, the chuck is used but it's just a standard tire chuck. There was no N in the shocks when I got them. I was talking to Snappy and he said they had an issue filling theirs up with a tire chuck so that may be part of the issue.

What pressures are you normally running in the front air shocks when you use them?

This is an Xterra with only the front clip left, a V6, manual tranny, 16.5 TI winch.

I've got a lift so installing the shocks and filling them extended is not an issue.

Thanks for the help, I'll try a couple more things today.

We used a stadard tire chuck on mine and had no issues. I don't recall mine being fully extended when I filled them either.

I used John Herr's setup which has an adjustable regulator. We set the regulator to the desired presure and filled until we hit that pressure. Is your regulator adjustable? Could it just be set too low?

When you have the tank/reg/valve set up and open and push the pin on the chuck, is N coming out?

And the pressure is going to depend on the weight of your vehicle and the ride height you deisre.
