I live on a dead end cul de sac that is up a hill, so leaving you go downhill to a T.
Sucks for the guy who lives at the bottom facing the street. o_OAbout once a month seems like he's out at his curb shoveling crap away.
There's no public sewer or central drainage here, so any grass clipping, leaves, etc from our cluster of houses wash down the hill and just pile up in front of his house.

I used to always just say, fuck it, a good rain and all that shit will go away. Now I at least try to keep my clippings off the road just to not be an asshole to that guy. Law of conservation of matter. Although he's been a jerk lately so maybe this winter I won't shred the leaves...

Here is what I copied off Face Book a month back. I haven't read 14-399, so I don't know the difference, or Confusion! Mount Holly has Grass/debris laws, pertaining to polluting the Storm Drains & gutters. Just as Most Every City does. TRY getting it enforced!!! I Wish I had this article a year back when an Ass-hat on Hwy 27 Bush Hogged his grass field on the Road. I Mean he COVERED the Whole Road! I see Excess grass, just like Leafs. Watch out for them when their Wet; Slick as Ice!

Rat lab, as a guy that's on the bottom of a hill in a area without storm drains. Thank you. I've gotta clean the ditch out back a few times a year. My uphill neighbor has a sweet gum.

The best is when we have a giant snowstorm. The plows - which are usually just whatever local dude w/ a truck attachment, and doesn't really GAF - just push it all downhill. He ends up w/ a mound that lasts until spring.

My eyes are bleeding from reading this thread.
Cul de sac and neighborhoods are strange words to me. #1stworldbullshitproblems

I ride a victory XR, wife and I were out on a 5 hour back country road ride yesterday. Came around a curve going down hill to a man that was mowing. Blew so much grass in the damn road all I saw was thick clumps of green covering the entire lane. Had to get in the left lane to stay out of it. Barely had time to slow down.

That guy is an inconsiderate fucking dick.

Not necessarily, depends on the deed and road. If cut up into lots the dot requires dedication of right of way. Not trying to be a dick, being a surveyor I know how shit goes down.

I thought the same thing, but went through this recently with the attorneys. Dedication of ROW means just that, it's similar to an easement. Abandonment of the ROW returns your property to you, doesn't create a new parcel. Surveyors show it both ways, just depends on the guy signing the drawing.

And as I'm sure you know, location of a stake doesn't mean diddly.

Until you've been unintentionally broad side on 900 lb bike at decent speed some may not understand. The dude mans choice of gear aside he has a valid point. Putting anything on top of asphalt for anybody can be bad news.
Enough gravel kicked up by running off the road is a killer too. I think the line is intentional and or being oblivious to putting a whole hay bales worth out in the highway.

you got road course wanna-bees hauling ass down that road.

Hey screw you! Just because you can't drag a knee you ain't gotta bag on those of us who can :flipoff2:

Actually, I don't even ride any more. I use to do that shit daily. But only on sections of road that had no driveways or connecting roads (not justifying my foolish actions, just providing that caveat of safety :D). Then I wised up and took it to the track. Then after a few years even THAT got old. But when I DID ride street the grass clippings use to piss me off. It's just lazy and disrespectful. But then again if you DO that...you don't give a shit about what anyone thinks of you in the first place...which means, yeah, you're a dick

I have always been told that it is illegal to blow clippings into the road. I have seen cops write tickets for it. It really pisses me off to see a lot of grass in the road. If its not much, I dont really care. But if the road is green, Ill lay on the horn and likely give a one finger salute. Just a big pet peeve of mine.

Me personally, Im kinda anal about my yard. I make three passes blowing it into the yard with a 64" cut. I still end up blowing some clippings into the road, so I make a pass or two on the road to blow the grass off. But, I also typically mow 3 times to get it perfectly even and blow all the clippings into the pasture and out of my yard. I think a bagger is in order for next year.

@CasterTroy - sorry man. I meant 4 wheel road course wanna bees, not 2 wheel. I didn't specify and its easy to think I was referring to 2 wheels.

No worries...just joking around

maybe someone should tell these asshats bushhogging the roadsides around here that then... they throw all kinds of crap on the road... not just grass clippings either

I got permission from the landowner to cut firewood from a huge Oak that was blown down in a hayfield near my house last year. The contractors mowing the roads backed right up to the tree and parked their tractors 50' past the ROW for a few days while it rained and they blocked my access to the tree. A few/5 days after they left I went back to cut some more and found lots of trash on the ground that they apparently tossed from their tractor cabs and trucks right where I had been sawing. They also did an oil or hyd. change on one of the tractors and drained it all right on the ground in the field. The oil spot was a 5' wide circle soaked into the grass and ground. I was furious that the farmer might think I trashed his field so I called him to let him know what happened and picked up the trash. I also called the dot and told them about it and where they could find the oil dumped on the ground if their contractors denied doing it.
