Damn, I've never missed an issue of Crawl. They used to send me doubles until I was nice enough to call and tell them I didn't need spares. Although, having a copy to put in the wating area at the shop and a copy for the house was nice.

ya know I am 100% for this event and what will hopefuly make a great long lasting yearly event close by at URE..

but for them to write in a National Magazine that they are:
"The first National Non-Profit Organization dedicated to saving and Keeping our Trails."

That is like slapping United Four Wheeling drive in the Face..

United has been around since the 80's helping keep trails open before most of us even knew what off-roading/trail riding was..

I am sorry but that just pissed me off.

Yea I think that was a lack of knowledge on Sean's part, Not sure if he's even heard of United, I'm sure he wouldn't have done that if he knew, kinda sucks thou.

Stupid Rookie mistake there Sean :flipoff2:

Allthou I will say United doesn't do a very good job of advertising, I could just be dumb/blind but don't ever remember seeing anything about United in any magazines or anywhere just know about it throu this board . . . .

This is clearly NOT correct and American Wheeler knows this. Steps are being taken to correct this. The Add was supposed to read ''The first of it's kind''. Meaning..AW will be the first of the non -profits to organize an ongoing series of competitive events designed to help raise money that will ultimately feed into United, and Southern...

The big add was paid for by AW..the smaller add, is being donated by CRAWL mag. in an effort to help gain awareness of the AW brand and what it is/will be all about.

Let me reiterate about the AWF. We are trying to say that we are the first of its kind out there dedicated to raising funds for organizations like United, Southern, PNW4WDA, etc. We are not a club, you can't join, we do not have chapters, we simply host events and sell products to raise $ for the simple purpose of saving trails. We will be giving those proceeds to organiztions like United and Southern so they can continue the fight and save trails like Tellico. In this way, we are the first. We are not trying to be cool, we are trying to get peoples attention so they begin to recognize us and get onboard. We don't care about ego's, we are about SAVING TRAILS and yes I do know of United. Maybe one of you could call them and tell them to return my calls. All we want to do is give them $.

well first I would like to say THANK YOU for coming on here an explaining..I appreciate that.

I also hope that your foundation does help raise money for those organizations.. they can use all the help they can get..

So I apologize for jumping down your throat.. but they way I read it, just got me worked up..

I thought American Wheeler was a FOR-profit entity.
This is a start up company, no secret there. AW has a great business plan and will be growing. As with alot of companies, there is the profit part, and the non-profit part. Take for instance..United..They are non profit, WITH paid positions.
Everyone knows them...no problems.
Next take AW. virtually unheard of...To make this vision a reality will take 100% dedication. In other words, it's a day in- day out full time job.

Remember this...NC4X4 Is basicaly involved in this deal at ground level, watching it all grow, seeing all the stumbling blocks, even creating a few.You cant say that about most/any other companies. In a way, it's good and in a way, it's bad.

Hopefully , in the future..we can all say..''Hey, we(nc4x4) watched this thing mature, and were a part of it. Hopefully one day, we will all be proud to say''I am an American Wheeler''

I am excited about the future of AW and plan on doing all I can to help. Not only for the sport, but for personal reasons as well. NO i am not a paid employee....but maybe one day!

I think AW has stepped up to the plate with an awesome event. I wish Sean all the luck as well as the guys helping (so far looking good). I would not have paid my entry fee to race if I didn't beleive in the cause.

Again Good Luck Sean and all of AW:beer::beer:
