I like catfish more than any. Brim in the spring and summer.

I live for flathead fishing! It's more like hunting then fishing! Nice cats tho

In the last pic I may have accidentally given away my most top secret cat bait of all time. Sonny's Super Sticky. I've never fished a river, pond, lake or ditch that that stuff doesn't work miracles.

Mostly just like taking the girls fishing for brim nowadays. I have a short attention span.
Haven't done it in years but really liked flounder gigging in the Neuse river when I lived in the eastern part of the state.

New River muskie? I used to live in Blacksburg, still have family there.

Nice fish! Anyone on here do any noodling? Or grappling? There are several different terms for it. A guy I used to work with did it at lake Norman a lot. He would get some MASSIVE catfish!

I hear of some monster blues and flattys on cape fear I may get to fish cape fear river in nc this spring any good locations to bank it?? I was aiming toward where the two big Rivers meet can't remember what the island was called tho is actually a peninsula if I do recall

Caught in the tail waters of overhead dam he wore my ass out gettin it in

I've only caught one flathead in the cape fear and it was a baby. Don't know where they all went, I hear the old guys saying the blues have just about dominated them out and eat their fry...

That's depressing it's very possible tho with how if blues get! Flats are hardest fish I've ever targeted to catch Besides musky around here flattys will ONLY eat live bait in the rivers most the year! I'll be trying on cape if I get the time while down there hopefully I'll hook into a monster

Wish you luck! I'll be happy when the rivers not 12' above average so I can actually get the boat in...

The confluence of the Cape where Deep an Haw meet, is a good spot to fish, its called Mermaid Point. It is just upstream from Goat island. The right side going upstream from Avents Ferry is game land so free camping. I love to fish below Buckhorn dam in that area and have caught several decent flat heads on rod and reel out of a jon boat and bank fishing within sight the dam.
