Angler achievements!

The confluence of the Cape where Deep an Haw meet, is a good spot to fish, its called Mermaid Point. It is just upstream from Goat island. The right side going upstream from Avents Ferry is game land so free camping. I love to fish below Buckhorn dam in that area and have caught several decent flat heads on rod and reel out of a jon boat and bank fishing within sight the dam.
Thanks for info that may help my chances of a NC monster!

Wish I had bought midways Jackson kayak

My BIL just bought a kayak and it is his goal to harvest a duck out of it. Not being a duck hunter this doesn't excite me but catching a few fish or exploring Buzzard Bay......you now have my attention.

Here's some old ones.... Hopefully get some more this summer....

That reminds me of the northern pike we used to catch in New England all the time. Those things are ferocious, I used to see them eat ducklings and muskrat babies, and come out of the water to snatch redwing blackbirds off of cattails.

I've heard of pike and musky hitting ducks on top water I caught a 13" smallmouth and had what looked like a 50"+ musky nailed it as I was reeling in held it for 15 sec and let go. Have pics of the bass and the damage from the teeth but it won't let me upload those pics on here

Tall think that's crazy, try fishing in the salt water. ;)
Lol yeah I can only imagine I hear salt water is most addictive fishing there is if you have the right equipment!

Got to hit it fri morn before work they were hot that morn

On a turkey hunt right now down in South Georgia, the birds aren't talking, so I grabbed a pole. 9 bass on 10 casts.... I had to quit because my thumb is too chewed up from lipping them. I don't think I've ever had that kind of haul in my life. All between 1 and 2lbs.

Took the jon boat out last friday to break in the new Zuk motor and let the kids wet a hook. Caught about 15 all together with these being the largest. Going back tomorrow for some more action.
