Another fun thread

This is why I buy storage buildings. I don't like feeling regret, and there's probably some void and emptiness in my soul that causes me to hoard shit I don't need.

As a follow up...I find myself regretting more the stuff I didn’t buy when I had the chance, especially when I see stuff like this. About 7 years ago, I had a shot at a fully restored truck like this. Guy was asking $12k, came down to $10k and I wouldn’t come off $8k...2-3 years ago, that same truck sold for $30k...I have no doubt I’ll be seeing it again for $50k+ in the near future.

Reading through the listed cars, reminded me of ones I forgot I had! But still, my Favorite [still looking] was the 71 Lincoln Mark 111. Doubt I have a picture, but This one on You Tube, is nearly exact! Mine had a lighter green interior. And, 71 had hide-away wipers, first year with Anti-lock brakes, & last year of the 10-1 compression 460, making 365 HP / 500 '# torque!

1971 Lincoln Continental Mark III in Ivy Moondust

You forgot the year
'76 model.

Back when they were used to filter all kinds of crap from drinking from a garden hose or playing in the local creek

Just like the sig line says, my '83 CJ7. That and my Model 70 30-06.

At this point, the JKU might be as capable as my old CJ (without the rust repairs). But the CJ just seemed to be everything a Jeep was supposed to be..

Curious, what mods did they do to the 4.3 in those?

Not much, just AWD and 14psi of turbo boost.
The 4.3 did have specific pistons and a few other internals, I think. Obviously the small single turbo and water/air intercooler were key to power gains. Supposedly way underrated at 280hp. The AWD made it something special, imo. Launching one at 10psi with good tires produced no wheelspin, no drama, no noise, just silent and violent. As the marketing ad said: "0-60 in 4.3 seconds. In the rain."

Notoriously unreliable transmission and electronics. Never had any reliability issues with mine thank goodness. Unfortunately I paid a lot for a clean one w/ 60k several years ago and sold it for pennies after not driving it very much. My personal trend to buy high and sell low continues haha...

My "Not much" was very sarcastic :D. I consider the Syclone and Typhoon as probably THE most underrated and underappreciated vehicles of the 90's.
