This is a bit of a surprise. He seemed like a normalish guy.
 
So basically God said "oh so you wanna play a gay guy in a movie? your dead... ...AFTER you finish filming batman"

Gay=Sinful
Batman=Christian

I'm looking forward to Dark Knight w/ Ledger as the Joker this summer.....shame.
 
I get sad when I see actors,musicians,athletes, etc.. end their carrer by drug abuse. I don't have a lot of sympathy for people with the resources they have and just decide to throw it away because they "feel" bad.

I agree. 28 yrs old and probably not to bad off. I guess with fortune and fame you get equally bad side effects.
 
Not that it makes any more sense but it does add something at least to me. I just read a CNN article on his death and they quote a November interview with him about his role as Joker and he talks about it had been trying for him and that he got really deep into the role. Also mentions how the role had taken his tole on him. He said he be would physically worn out but that his mind would not slow down at night. Even mentioned he was taking two ambien but they would only work for an hour. I found it all interesting and oddly prophetic.
 
It's really sad, but I'll be completely honest, the first thought that came to mind was "I hope this doesn't screw up future batman movies".

I understand your point..but how come I just lay there for a few hours wide awake when I got stuff on my mind and skip the pill cocktails?
It's not just famous people this happens to. It seems heavy drugs have taken down a lot of my friends over the years who have built succesfull careers in business. I don't understand the mentallity of willing to risk everything you've worked for so you can either get high, have a good time or get high and hide from reality. How can something get a hold of you so bad that your willing to sacrifice it all? It displays a basic weakness of the soul to me. I ain't talking about burning one from time to time, I'm talking about heavy duty drugs.

That was his way of asking for help but he got none, if I had to bet.
Would you go on the news or a talk show or anywhere and talk about the drugs you take or what they do or don't do for you?????
I think it was a cry out for help.
To many people with all their money grow up to fast and have no clue about life and what it has to offer and then get into all this drug crap and its all over..... This would sound like it is one more person of the many yet to come if people don't step up and show them it is the wrong thing to do, but as long as the people they keep looking up to are using this crap they they will follow, and they will die. Drugs suck.....

I 110% agree. I was just sharing something I read that i thought told the story a little more. Great points. I see friends ruin themselves all the time. It is sad and you are right; its definately not just celebrities.

That was my thoughts too.
 
I'll admit it, I saw the mountain movie, but even if Jake had been substituted for a woman it still would have sucked.
