Any of y'all ever make Snow at Home??

I just have the one nozzle and it's actually not a nozzle it's just a pipe cap with the 2 7/64 holes drilled in it.I am not sure what to do with the air hose freezing up,I am gonna play with it more today.Where did you get your no return valve willness?I can't find one that will do what I want it to do.Anyways here are some pics from the coverage last night.I think I ran it about 2 hours or so.You can see how fast you could cover your yard with a thin layer of snow and keep adding to it.You can also see in the pics how the wind really blew it around last night.I will post more pics maybe this weekend or next week when I have covered more of the yard.

I got the check valve at Lowe's in the sump pump area. They have brass and pvc. I used brass, but pvc might work just as well. Dunno. My current wet bulb is 27. I'm heading outside.

Second attempt and the snow is blowing.

These pics are about 1 hour old and the snow is definitely starting accumulate.

with a go big or go home attitude the bdb got together and gave it a shot. because we cant read we used a 7/32 bit.... it worked and laid down the snow fast. it a hour we had snow 3/4" deep in a 20' by 40' path. however my 10hp 3 phase compressor never turned off so we backed down to a 1/8 tip. sucks after seening the damage a 7/32 can do but still covered decent.

Yeah my 5 horse Craftsman almost never gets a break. It's amazing how fast you can lay the snow down.Mine is out there running right now.Looks like it's gonna be cold enough most of next week too.Cool pics, bet you could coat that parking lot pretty easy!

Willness I am waiting to see your pics!

This was from the morning after that last pic I posted. I only made snow until 11:00pm that night. Too bad it was all melted by noon the next day. I made snow again the next night and it was gone again by noon. I'm going to hold off until the days stay a little cooler. The gun works perfectly though.

I have been making it about 3 hours a night. The edges are melting back but there are spots where the rig was set up that it is probably 4 inches deep. These pics are after 3 nights.

this would eliminate any compressor destruction and possibly give you more snow. The site says your compressor must produce minimum rating of 5.4 CFM @ 90PSI.

wait... I think you need a pressure washer too for this one...Hmmm?
any help fellas?

You do need a hefty compressor. From all of my research, an electric pressure seems to be the way to go since the psi and gpm output doesn't need to be that high. Also, who wants to keep filling up a gas pressure washer and listen to it run? I've not gotten very serious about the external mix rigs since I don't have an electric pressure washer.

I've put my snowmaking on hold until I can to some tinkering with my well. It's just too much continuous water for a shallow well with a submersible pump that's obviously set too deep. Muddy water greeted me in my morning shower after a night of snowmaking.

I have never tried it.I get an insane amount with just water from the house and an air compressor.

mine does 6.5CFM at 90psi but I'm not sure I want to run my water all night either. I remember watering the lawn for a few hours during an evening one summer and we had the muddy water for a while the next day! oops, lol.

Looks like I'll be building the same ones you guys have. I've currently got 4" of real snow on the ground from the storm here in Marble and the SnowAtHome page says it's ideal for snow making!

I have been making it all night since about 7.The rain got all my snow, but I have already covered about 1/2 of my yard and I just keep going out there and moving the rig.Tonight is the first night this year I am getting repeated cars stopping to check it out.

Just a couple Pics of the new Snow. This was all put down in one night,I stayed up until about about 2AM.

Did anyone ever make out any better?I finally quit fighting it for this year.Seems like every time I got 3 or 4 days together that I could make snow,I would get 3 or 4 days that it was too warm.Plus all the "Snow" events that turned out to be really cold rains,I just could never get a good covering this year.

Plenty of good nights to make snow here, but my well can't take it. I'm going to do some work to the well this spring, so next winter will get a full-on attempt.

Bump. It's getting close to that time of year again, and I'm ready to go into full snow production this year. Now if the weather would give me some love, I'll have some white stuff.

It's that time again. I will set up my gun the next night I get cold temps.

I'm kicking around ideas and planning on building a fan gun this year for more output.
