anybody have a rubicon unlimited?

My wife is looking to buy a new vehicle.

She liked the CRV and Saturn VUE. I threw out there that she should look at the 4-door wranglers. We checked out some last night (from the outside only since the dealers were closed) and she really liked the rubicon unlimited.

I was like hell yeah, way better than a CRV.

Anybody have a 2007? Any points on the "new" 3.8L or the auto tranny 42RLE?.

We are going to test drive some today so that will tell a lot, but I wanted some ammo for or against if anyone has any.

That's the thing that we have to decide. I am not sure if the warranty covers 07's. It might be worth the wait on an 08 just for that reason. I have to do a little more research on the warranty.
 
i wouldn't get the rubicon. just get a sahara or some other package. I doubt she is going to be going wheeling with it. doesn't seem like a package worth spending the money on if you aren't going to wheel it.
 
I hear you, but the prices on the "on the lot" jeeps we've looked at have been pretty much identical (within a few hundred) between the saharas and the rubis so I figure why not.

Plus I should always have a trailrig at my disposal which will be nice since I can never seem to have my crap running/ready to go.

We still have to test drive them and see if she likes it, but she seems pretty jacked about it.
 
Well, give her a "jeep wave" if you see a cute blonde driving a jeep green rubicon unlimited with a hardtop.

She can't believe she EVER wanted a CRV!
 
kinda funny.. i was just in the market for an SUV for the wife... we looked at CRV, toyotas, etc.. she ended up liking the New Grand so now we have another jeep in the driveway :)

Nice! Those are pretty sweet.

I figured that the rubi is as much toy for me as car for her.

Yea, right, the first scratch you put on your "toy" will be the end of you.:lol:
 
ive owned an 07 4door x since february. been back to dealer 3 times for the electronic throttle control light. one time my wife hit the gas pulling in to traffic and it had a 5 second delay before the jeep even moved!!!!!!! almost got her t boned. im a huge jeep fan but if i had to do it again i would wait a few years until they get some bugs worked out. o also it has a knocking noise in the motor that they are calling injector tick(bullshit), the traction control lights keep coming on, it has no power and the back seat is xtremely uncomfortable. anyway if the light for the etc comes on one more time i will be taking it back under the nc lemon law. dont get me wrong i love jeeps and have owned a few but they should have stuck with the olg 4.0L.
