Anybody pulled a camper to Arrowhead Campground at Uwharrie?

We want to camp the weekend of April 23, and wife went online to see which sites would be best. We found some conflicting info - an rv review site says that there are water and electric hookups, but the recreation.gov site says just electric. Are there some water hookups somewhere so we can fill the tank? Has anybody run a camper off of 15amp or should we just use the battery? We just bought it last August so not a lot of experience with it yet (except at the beach where you even have cable hookups :fuck-you:)

As far as water and electricity hook ups go there are both located at the campgrounds but not at the campsites.

To clarify...

All the campsites that are marked as having electric hook ups ($15 a night) have normal outlets plus RV power hookups. Then around the campgrounds there are multiple water spigots, plus a water station for RVs (some guys use it to wash off their trucks...), and a dump station. So yes there are water hook ups to fill the tanks, and a dumping station even, just no water hook ups at every campsite.

Another thing to point out is that if your looking to reserve a campsite for the weekend of the 23rd keep in mind there are two events going on that weekend. The CNC4X4 Spring Fling, and ISUZUwharrie. Here is a little map we have set up showing who has what reserved :

You can see that most of the upper loop is starting to get taken up, so don't wait too long. The Isuzu/Mitsu Logos are from our group, and I am guessing at least 3 of the "red unknowns" are from the CNC4X4 group.

Most sites with electrical hookups have 15 and 30 amp receptacles.

Just make sure you have a campsite with electric and your camper will hook up to it fine.

As Ken mentioned there are a "few" water spigots but what we did is fill up our clean water tank before leaving home and brought our water with us!! (What I did wrong was thought the system was flushed good / but still had that nasty rv/antifreeze smell.....FLUSH the tanks / toilet / hot water heater all really well first)

You don't really need the water for showers / the bath house in Arrowhead is VERY nice...that being said, I personally prefer the sites closest to it for that reason.

So the water will easily handle your toilet needs / sink etc for the weekend if you bring your own. (Much easier to do this at home)

Finally...on the way out, they do have a dump station, so I was able to pull in and flush out the grey / black water tanks really good!!

Makes for a nice weekend...would be nicer though if they had full hookups and cable / but not many National/state parks have those.

We're set up for site 42 for April 24 and 25 - fairly close to water, has electric, and not a bad trot for the 10 yr old to the bathhouse.

Come by and see us, we'll be there in a red TJ and wife's GC pulling the camper.
