Anything Worth Eating and McDonalds?

I know! I think I was more pissed that it was from Cookout than the fact that I got sick..haha. If I am going to eat fast food, Cookout is (was) my fav spot!

Even if I did get sick off Cook Out, I would somehow convince myself that it was something I ate earlier... or a complete coincidence.

I just now discovered the quesadillas... there is so much more menu for me to try lol.

So I figured it out. The round egg at mcdonalds is a fresh egg cooked to order....the fried egg thing is not a real egg. just read an article that if you get a Bacon egg and cheese biscuit...you should ask for a round egg

Yea, but how long has that egg been in the cooler (or out of the cooler)? Ever notice how sometimes they have a green-tint or green pieces in them? Just sayin...

Realistically...unless you grow and eat all your own food, you could have this same conversation about stuff you buy at the grocery store as well. Anyone know how many spider legs are acceptable in a can of beans??? Or how many roach eggs are acceptable in a loaf of bread??? How about horse meat being sold as ground beef??? And if anyone thinks the answer is ZERO, you're kidding yourself that the FDA would care that much.

Let's not forget that the regular food cost has already been marked up to account for the overhead, taxes, labor, etc for sitting in the grocery store. And let's not forget about opportunity costs, these days I'm up at 5, and doing some sort of work until 9-10 at night, with not much down time...cooking a meal usually means 15...30...60 minutes that will come from where??? Being a guy that literally had to live off $3/day at one point in his life...I'll say the grocery store isn't always the cheapest alternative with the likes of dollar menus. A couple heads of lettuce, some carrots, a loaf of bread, some bologna and a dash of ramen and you're tapped out until next week. Or you could get a mcdouble, crispy chicken, nuggets, etc and rotate 5 different fast food joints with a10+ items on that menu...you tell me which you'd prefer. I'm not advocating fast food, but I will say grocery shopping isn't always the cheapest alternative.

So many people are proving my point this morning.

If it takes you 15 minutes to prepare two sandwiches, you have bigger problems than I can help you to fix, and it seems you have some rather large ones if all you had for food is $21/week...in all likelihood, your money was going toward methamphetamines.

I heard about this too, what the FDA says is acceptable in certain foods....its crazy...you would think they would be MUCH more strict!!!

Hell...even if you get home grown food...it may not be the best for you. Used to get cucumbers and tomatoes from a buddy of mine until I saw one of his dogs $#!T in his garden. Look up what dog feces as fertilizer can do to a human if you're interested.

You're right I did have problems...one year left of school, my dad's business had just failed, the IRS was taking any income he had. So not only did I have to find a way to finish paying for my degree, but also find a way to help support my family back home...getting up to be at FedEx by 330 to load trucks isn't as glamorous as it sounds. Any more smart ass comments dickhead. And if all you're preparing are sandwiches...that's not very healthy either...unless you're making them with leftovers...and how long did it take you to make that???

I've packed lunches daily at a few jobs over the years, but just like fast food you get tired of the same crap, sammich, chips, fruit, or thermos of the day and head for the FF joints if your on a budget. A hot, sitdown meal is also nice if you work outside in the winter and need a break from the cold. I prefer to stay away from FF at work but the crew I work w prefers it more often than not.

This is my problem...I work in the Fast food Mecca...every which way you yurn your head....theres something.... but figuring out that I was spening like 60-80 bucks a month on eating out just for lunch.....I quickly stopped and just sucked it up and ate leftovers for lunch....while it might be as satisfying at the time of eating....it gets me full and in the end, thats all that matters.

There is nothing better than a Big Mac w/ extra sauce and pickles, large fry and large sweet tea. I am a fatty and I know it:D

I'll take my Big Mac deep fried, x-large fry, and large chocolate shake. Then, deep fried Snickers, and Oreos for dessert.

Chicken McNuggets rock, I don't care whats in them. I eat Wendy's/McDonald's about once a week each for dinner. Not a ton of options when I have to rush out of work to make to to class for my MBA. I normally eat extra cheap off the dollar menu though.

Health Inspections are a joke anyways. You always know about when the inspector was coming and you could always get a good score if you have a half way competent manager, I never got below a 97.5 in 3 years. Not saying the store was dirty normally, but the stuff they take off for also is a joke. Having your dumpster outside not fully closed -1 point.

Only thing I really like there are the chicken biscuits (not McChicken) and the chicken sandwich.

I have a weakness for food that cost me $400-$600 a month easily. It's ridiculous, but I can't help it. I live alone, always on the go and never feel like packing a lunch. I work super hard and look forward to getting away from the job for an hour. $6 breakfast, $15 lunch and sometimes dinner too. Since I'm always in a different place I like to go to sit down places, especially hole in the wall mom and pop places. I eat Mexican about 3 times a week. I just can't stand cheap fast food joints because of everything mentioned in this thread. My girlfriend says when we live together she will pack my lunch, I can't wait to start putting all that lunch money into my jeep. Although I'm sure she'll find other uses for it...

The spicy chicken sandwich from chicfila is IMO the best chicken sandwich you can get through a drive thru. I love Wendy's, double baconator with lettuce and tomato added is the best!
