[Apr 19, 2013] 2nd Annual Down and Dirty For Life/Spring Open Invite @ The Flats (Marion, NC)

The Flats is worth missing a work day at Uwharrie, between the different rigs to harder trails, after one trip you wont want to go to Uwharrie for a while it would be nice if it was closer but worth the ride.
 
There is nothing challenging at Uwharrie for me but its close enough that I can run down after work to blow off a stressful day whenever I want. It's the place that got me started and if I ever have kids I want them to enjoy it too. With the recent closing of RML and everyone against us I'm willing to pass. I don't want to see it turn into Tellico and without volunteers that's what will happen. Sometimes I go and just pull out a chair and relax, not always about the challenge.
I will get to the flats soon. Hoping its as good as Gulches.
 
As was posted, SideXSide UTV type vehicles are allowed at The Flats. Although any non Rock Corps members WILL be required to wear a helmet while riding them, any where on the property. No helmet, you'll have to park them. Sorry guys and gals, just a Safety precaution.

After working all weekend @ work and the other BigJUGGY Bro wrenching all day & nite...we are back in the game. Hope to See y'all soon.
 
I'm going to try to make it but idk if ill be off or not and don't have time to ask off this late now. Does anyone know the dates of the next one incase I can't make this one I can go ahead and get off for the next one

It was in the event information at the top of this page. I fixed it.
 
The hill climb challenge has been set. Their will be 2 classes. It will be a timed race.$10 entry fee
1st class 37" tire and under class.
2nd class 38" tire and over class.
Both classes will run Laurel Lane.
Race will start @ 4:15 sharp at the bottom of Laurel Lane.
Thanks to Tlc Transmissions for sponsoring the 1st class. They will be putting up $100 to the winner.
Scott from MetalwerX is sponsoring the 2nd class. He will be putting $100 to the winner. The Flats will be giving an additional $100 per class! Plus there will hopefully be some items for 2nd & 3 rd places. Plus the entry fee pot will be paid to the winner!
No helmets required. No lap belts. Factory belts or harnesses.

My power steering pump comes in this week. I work off Friday morning so if I can get it swapped I'll be there early Sat morning.
