In the past two days, there have been two different news stories involving guns at airports. The first was the other day an elderly man (I think late 70's) was stopped by TSA screeners because he had a .38 pistol strapped to his ankle. He claims he "forgot" it was there. I'm sorry - if my sock is bunched up around my ankle, I know it's there...let alone a pistol. Are those holsters THAT comfortable, or is he just full of $hit?

On a separate occasion, a gun that was being transported in a carry on bag went off accidentally at an Atlanta TSA screening bench. The owner of the gun "forgot" he was carrying it.

Are people THAT stupid, or are they just that openly defiant and obstanant when caught?
I don't have a problem in the world with people owning guns. I don't have a problem in the world with people using guns to protect themselves.
I don't have a problem in the world with people transporting guns as long as it's done in a safe manner.
But people, come on..... this is the post-9/11 world we live in. Carry your gun all you want, but remember where you put it.... or if you are caught with it where it doesn't belong, own up to it. Don't play the "I forgot" game like you are a 3 year old caught with his hand in the cookie jar again.
