Beadlocks....school me

we run the DIY kits that we had made ourselves. I've been running them for a couple of years and love them. If you want to take a look at them, come out to the farm in York sometime and take a look at mine. they are on a steel 15x8 wheel with 3.75" bs. once you weld on the first ring, it now makes your wheel about an inch wider but that depends on how think your tire bead is. I mount all mine by hand exactly like upnover stated. A 5 gallon bucket works wonders to help center it while bolting it down. Here is a pic of mine.

I made my own DIY beadlocks..

they have had no issues at all.. my rims are 10" wide ( that is correct 10") and I run 38x12.5.

so far in last few years I have not lost a bead even with the wide rim.. Also I usually run about 4 or 5 psi in my rims..

here are some pics to help understand the weld on of the pieces

Stauns are about $200 more depending on what size rim you have.

the only difference between the ones shown above and mine, are than mine don't sit down inside the outer lip of the wheel. Mine are the same size as the diameter of the wheel lip so the welding is done around the edge, thus the tire does not sit on the welded surface, only on flat steel. Plus, mine are 32 bolt design and those are 18.

Ron I also run the weld on DIY beadlocks. When I do Leslie's XJ it will have them also. No problems whatsoever with them. They will absolutly take a beating, and not fail!
Mine are like 99ncxj's, that weld to the outer edge rather than sit inside. But I have not had issues with either sealing. A few tips and tricks, feel free to call me.(Too lazy to write it all)
