Best performance car for $10k ?

And because that Renesis engine is not known for its fuel consumption, or power, or reliability, or.....
Oh, its known for fuel consumption.... it consumes plenty.

And you have to rev the shit out of that rotary motor to stay in the powerband. Not many people are comfortable with that, unless you're use to riding 600cc sportbikes on the track...and then it's like second nature

Are some people not used to extended periods of hanging out near the rev limiter? I’m offering lessons.

My GSX-R redlined at 18k, it was a blast and spent a lot of time up in that range

Back in about 2004, a guy I know went from a 4.0 TJ to an RX8, and loved the handling, but was disappointed that it was slower than his Jeep.

I can't think of a bigger insult to a car than "It's slower than a Jeep".
But to be fair, a stock TJ on stock tires is definitely not the slowest thing out there. And then there's the mutations like the Grand Cherokee SRT8 and friggin Trackhawk.

I was checking the value of the wifes E92 335Xi...apparently the trade in value is right at $10k o_O:shaking:

Not sure how a C6 even entered the discussion of a $10k budget, but having driven a couple, I wouldn't want one for anything other than a track car. On the open road they beat my kidneys into submission to every rest area along the way. GREAT for autoX but horrible for driving to and from.

If you think a c6 rides bad, try a 84 vette with the z51 package.i had one back in the day and it was flat out horrific.

Ride a 300 on the track, then you will really know what ringing the shit out of it feels like! hahah
More folks (on here) could relate to the 600 reference. Not but maybe 2 that would have caught a reference to an RS250 on VIR screaming like a banshee...but you get it I see :huggy:

Hey, a buddy sent me this - maybe you could pick up one of these for under $10k today...
