Big Woody > Micheal Phelps

Naw...he took a swim when his buggy went upside down in the drink. Pretty scary actually, considering he was strapped in with harness and had to undo 2 window nets, all while upside down...under water completely.

Ah so it was his rig with just the rear tire sticking out of the water...

wow!!!!!! glad he is ok.

He is a responsible business owner and soon to be father.

What what whaaa? Congrats to Greg & Amy

And here's hoping he/she looks like Mom.. :flipoff2:

Must have been one helluva ride....glad you made to dry land & congrats on the wee-one.

wow, chase filled me in on some of the details and all i can say is wow ! I really don't think people fully understand how hard it is to quickly get out of a vehicle when your strapped in with a harness, window nets etc. all with a helmet on.

^^^^and upside down.

I had a good friend who rolled his truck. Was so disoriented that he kicked out the back glass to get out of the truck.

Also.....Congrats on the new little one Greg. Being a father is awesome

After riding the track on Friday that was my #1 fear / tis the reason I spoke up about it at the Drivers Mtg on Saturday morning. (That they needed to know how to get out of their harness and rig if under water)

I was on a trip in TN where we nearly flopped and I would have been under several feet of water. Scared the snot outta me, I still get chills thinking about how close that was.

Major props to Greg for getting out of it...

Tis something I think must be addressed before the next race, just in my opinion. (Perhaps a Tellico / "Guardrail" type net if nothing else)

Sam

[Also I edited out the BS from here... just moved it all..thx]

Bent rod in the motor...pride slightly damage , but otherwise life is good. thanks for the help from the BDB guys, Rob and Geoff for the recovery. Yes, it scared the hell out of me.

Wow. I bet it was scary. Did you miss the turn, hit the lake, then go upside down, or did you like barrel-roll into it?

Sucks about the motor, can you stroke an LS1? :smokin:

WOW, how the hell?? who cares im glad you are alright. If some random guy said someone did that I would not believe it, I would have to see it.

Greg,

Very Glad you're OK...I didn't see it happen, only saw you and Rob walking by soaking wet talking about it. Comforting to know this Group of folks is Right there when you need them most...

Now I know why people run those snorkles. Greg, You should call ARB and have one molded for ya.

You mean a snorkel that sticks out of the bottom of the rig for when you're upside down under water?
I think that's called a ricer cold-air intake :flipoff2:

I remember hearing the sound. It sounded like...well it sounded like..like you (greg) nailed the throttle wide open , then the sound of the water splash. I took off running, not believing my ears. I could see the water wakes and waves just rolling along the pond. I remember thinking '' Damn, those are big waves and huge ripples, I think he went all the way in'' I come around the corner, and only saw one wheel, then Greg holding his shoulder. That was insane fo sho.

More like this- "cool, Gregs on deck. Man, hes rippin by the sounds of it. Cool, hes in view. He hit that last bump at the top of the hill too hard and is boucing the front end. Crap hes still not getting traction enough to make the turn. Oh $hit, he slid parallel into the berm of trees. HOLY $HIT he carried too much momentum and barely rolled over the top of the berm. Run, get into the CJ, drive over at mach 2 and get ready to jump in- whew, there he is... Piss pants at later time, theres folks watching. I obliterated one of the big cable spools and a traffic fold-up marker on the way over and didnt even feel it.
Gotta give it to him- he was spankin Will at that point, NOBODY came over the first hill like he did.

the weekend anyway...:driver:
Taking a break from wheeling anyway until my little one arrives in early July.

Glad to hear you are ok Greg..

and Congrats on the new arrival..
