biker build off

I have an enormous amount of respect for Jesse's metal craftsmanship but his product didn't back up his mouth this time around, still I'd love to have a chance to work with and learn half of what he knows.

As for the TV time clowns Sr. or Jr. don't have a leg to stand on without their related crews. Jr. has a bit more talent between the two but neither could do much alone.

As for the hype and contest. It was over advertised and entailed more drama past and present rather than what got them going (nuts and bolts of a life style-builders and product-bikes).

AND YOU CAN NO WAY CONVINCE ME JRS. BIKE FROM CONCEPT TO FINISHED MACHINED COMPONENTS WAS HANDLED STRICKLY IN THE CONTEST DURATION.

The concept and preplaning had to exist at some levels to execute the culmination of machined components that make that bike funtional. The scope was to large and to detailed to get it to come together and work that smoothly. Especially from varied suppliers. Jr just doesn't seem capable of that kind of logistical planning, in deminsional or conceptual form.

I've never seen anything Jesse has built that I wouldn't want to ride or own. I can't say that about the other two, they have built some of the stupidest looking bikes I've ever seen.

like said before, the normal build off requires the builders to actually ride the bikes to the event. jesse's would b the only one that would make it.

I missed it. Are there any pictures of the finished product? I've always been a fan of Jesse James he's a madman with metal.

Watched a show on history channel called Jessie James blacksmith. Seems he has already built a stainless frame and blacksmithed a front end before the American chopper build off. I love how the producers make reality look real!

Jesse's bike without a doubt! Remember his frame and the springer front fork Assembly is stainless steel! That had to be a bitch to work with. He made that in house!

I ain't no chopper owner or rider, but used to ride YZ 125's, 250's and 490's and an old V-MAX back in the eighties. I do weld and build some stuff so here's my comment.

They should have made them ride them like the old shows, at least 100 miles or so. Better yet, 50 miles out and back, quickest time gets another 3rd of there votes added to the final tally.

If I was Sr. - I'd fire half my staff for talking me into building that crap, wait a minute, someone else built the frame, they bought the stupid track things and brought in a guy to wire lace it out. They just built a hood for the front and mounted a big caster on the back, total crap, just put the tracks on a segway and call it DONE. People always put tracks on something as a last resort - always some blinged out Hummer at SEMA with them. I don't even consider half his employee's bikers, Vinnie (?) needs out'a there, maybe he's hoping to inherit it and take over.

I'm sure Sr. built nice stuff way back, but money has taken him over and he's back slid a lot.

Jr. - nice looking bike, he's creative, the exhaust was cool but not real world useful, great attention to detail, wouldn't buy it or ride it. But, he has built some really cool bikes thru the years and has detailed stuff.

Jesse - Not the most wise man at women, but bikes, yea, he won this one in my book. I'd ride it (i'm sure I wouldn't look right on it though), he built the frame, forks, tank and all, PLUS IT LOOKS RIGHT AND LIKE A BIKE/CHOPPER. Stainless is a pain to cut, smooth and finish out, takes twice the time versus mild steel, welding it is really easy though. Plus, you can steal shop tricks and ideas from Jesse. And, looks to me like he'll call a spade a spade.

I guess we'll have to wait till Billy Lane gets out'a prison so Jessie and that Austrailian guy can have a "real" biker build off. To bad Indian Larry bit it out at the Cabarrus County Fair Grounds awhile back.

My guess is - the real problem is the demographics of people who actually text in to vote.

Overwhelming majority of this thread is pro- Jesse.
But how many here actually voted?
