bikers ran over!!!

Brake checking an SUV w a motorcycle is incredably stupid, doing it while the SUV is surrounded by more asshats on bikes is asking for trouble, which is exactly what they got. Imagine the scene if it happened in Texas :driver: :uzi::handed::handed::handed::handed::handed::handed::handed::handed::handed::wheel:

I've heard the arrested bikers are saying they did nothing wrong and want an appology from the driver they beat the shit out of after dragging him out of his Suv. I'm anxious to see how that defense will work in court. I'm also guessing the jurors will be quick to convict them, having probably being fed up w NY gangs and thugs in general.

3 riders were off duty NYPD, and there was one undercover detective in the ride, but I haven't seen where any were suspected of taking part in the beating, though none of them stepped in to defuse the situation.

Not a popular question...but here it is...what provoked the initial brake check from the bike??? There just seems to be waaaaaay more to this story than what's being relayed to the general public. You really think mass media is going to shed any positive light on a 'biker gang'...yeah right. This story just doesn't quite add up to me, regardless of how much of a dumbass the biker was, no one is dumb enough to think a 500lb bike brake checking a 6000lb suv is a good idea. I've been around long enough to know these sequence of events just don't accidentally happen very often. I'm thinking what happened before the video was something like the rover was being a dick trying to maneuver around the bikes in typical NY driving fashion, which prompted retalliation...and the other biker knew $#!T was about to go down and turned on his camera. I just think if the rover couldn't handle driving in those situations, he should have stopped and pulled over looooong before these events took place. Not saying he's in the wrong, or that he wasn't justified...just saying it escalated at warp speed.

I'm guessing the SUV was tooling down the road when the parade of bikes passed and surrounded his vehicle on all sides, like a scene from Madmax and the hooligan biker gang. That would make me uneasy if they did'nt continue on past but proceeded to try to slow me down or stop me from turning or getting away from the crowd, for who knows what ?, carjacking comes to mind. It WAS an expensive new RRr and one or more of the assaulting bikers have long rap sheets for all kinds of crimes. It may not of happened like this but I imagine even the cops were intimidated by the crowd of angery bikers and what they might do if they tried to stop them from their road raging. It's called profileing and I do it all the time and w all races, if someone is acting or looking like trouble. If it walks like a duck and quacks like a duck it's probly a duck or a theif, criminal, fugitive or just a hopped up or jonesing drug addict, all could be threats in a momment.

I agree...profiling works...with as many high dollar cars there are to choose from driving up and down the highway...what made them choose that one??? Short of being an unorganized blob, are there any other reports of cars being taunted or harassed???

A couple things...if you've ever ridden a bike or used a go pro you would see that he didn't brake check the SUV, just chopped the throttle--and got what he deserved. You don't just "turn on" a helmet mounted go pro while riding...especially while wearing riding gloves. You think he also turned it off at the exact point of the guy getting his ass beat? From the start of the video you can see the group surrounding and passing the SUV--not the other way around and from their other videos you can see them riding like complete dipshits. There may be more to it, but if there is no one has said anything about it and the assholes still got what they deserved. How do you suggest pulling over when there are bikes and quads on every side?

Whatever inspired the brake check? Probably the biker. How you say? Well, I know plenty of times where I've been on 485 here in CLT running 80 in a 65, fast enough to ride in "the fast lane", when some douche ass hats on crotch vibrators will come flying up on my ass blinking their lights. I will light up my brake lights telling them to back off and then get over when I can. He may have done the same, but then you got this idiot who decides he's gonna brake check him back to show off in front of his friends. Well he hit his brakes a lil too hard... got what he deserved in my opinion... the last place to think your invincible is on a motorcycle...

What I read was the bike gang was trying to stop the flow of traffic so they would have the whole interstate to do stunts. I'll look up the link. And the gang was something something stunterz I think...

Maybe I am being naive, or have more faith in humanity than I should or maybe being overly skeptical...but in a day where we KNOW the media edits what you see, I don't think we've seen the full video. I just find it hard to believe that this guy was singled out from the from all the other vehicles on the road to be taunted and harassed for no reason what so ever. Not disagreeing with the bikers being in the wrong, but I can't help but think something prompted this retalliation when all the others cars on the road seemed to handle themselves just fine.

And this is where my questions lie as well...

Jeez. Why did this all happen?P
Well, it's hard to tell because the video starts after what appears to be some kind of altercation between Lien and Cruz, so it's possible Lien bumped Cruz before Cruz brake checked him. One rider claimed the initial approach around Lien's car was non-violent, but after Lien panicked and drove over Mieses everything pretty much goes to shit.P

And I'm wondering why the rover couldn't do as the rest of the cars did...

So what the hell am I supposed to do if I'm in Lien's position?P
Well, Lien didn't do everything right. As you can see in the video, other drivers make it out of the situation okay by moving slowly to the right. The riders go by those cars, but Lien remains in the center lane

Not saying the rover is to blame...but it seems everyone else was able to get out of harms way, why didn't he???

Lane 2 or 3 of the interstate shouldn't be "harms way". The fact that the others had to be in lane 1 and slowed to a crawl really illuminates the situation in my opinion.

If you watch the very beginning of the video, the biker who did the brake check is practically straining his neck to look inside the Rover. He then is halfway turning around when he is getting closer to the Rover in front of it. Looks to me like he was trying to freak the Rover driver out getting real close in an effort to twist the throttle "just in time". I've seen that one play out (successfully). I say again, this was a set up from the word go. I just can't see how that many bikers IN FRONT OF THE BIKER THAT GOT HIT were able to stop that quickly if it WEREN'T a setup. If it weren't a setup, they would have been paying attention to what was in front of them, not what happened behind them. Sure, some may have stopped, but it was as though they knew it was going to happen.

Again, I'm not disagreeing with that either...but there are plenty of situations in day to day life that aren't ideal that we all seem to come out of unscathed...it's called situational awareness, and I don't know if the rover's sucked or if he chose to stand his ground.

I'm sure whenever you see a few hundred bikers in one spot you start talking about their mothers but I doubt that's what happened here. Its NYC where there are plenty of situations in day to day life that no-one seems to come out of unscathed... especially when dealing with a rather large biker gang that is in a turf battle over a particular stretch of the interstate...

So you're saying the rover couldn't move over like the hundreds of other cars did that day...or you're saying this guy was a rival gang member on the wrong side of the tracks???

First off I ride sport bikes but never in groups of more than 5 I just dont enjoy the ride as much and I dont like large groups of people on bikes but in cars or standing around.mob mentality is a dangerous thing no matter what situation. I have slowed down to crawl to encourage a close following driver to give me space but always after flashing brake lights giving multiple hand signals.I have pulled my gun on a very angry driver that had swerved at me a couple times was making obscene gestures after I was cought at a stop light he was revving at me honking and kept pulling closer to me the light was red I had a car in front of me so couldn't escape so I drew my gun kicked down my kickstand and prepared to defend in place.on the other hand if I was surrounded by any mob that appeared to want to do my family harm I would have pushed my way out to and when they had me trapped I woulda come out smoking. This is a prime example of why I carry 33rd mags for my glock and a miltary grade evil black rifle (its actually flat dark earth tavor)when im outa town

All I'm saying is I personally can't see purposely taunting that large of a group of people. And you don't have to be from a rival gang to be caught in the crossfire. They wanted that section of road and were willing to take it.

And let me also say I love riding bikes and can't wait to get another one, the biggest part of what I miss is charity rides and cruises. What I don't like is large groups of stupid people that think they have the right to do whatever they want because they're bigger.

I love riding too, have since I could get my M/C endorsement. I used to ride ricers but moved to cruisers, and now building a bobber to ride around town. It seems to me its a situation of too many like minded douchebags thinking they can do what they want, and according to the article above, they get away with it and have been for a long time. Maybe it was just time for someone to say "I'm not putting up with this shit anymore.... I've got just as much right to be on the road(maybe more) as these assholes! SCREW THEM!" ....

If more people stood up to these pussies then it would stop.

Or one well armed person.....
