BITD V2R 1000 mile desert race, Rob Usnick

Incase nobody knows, Rob is racing in the Best In The Desert Vegas To Reno 1000 mile desert race RIGHT NOW!

Its a 3 day event. The 4400 class is new this year and is basically a class for rock crawlers (4x4 vehicles) to qualify for the King of the Hammers race in Feb 2010.

Rob is already qualified but decided to race anyway.

looks like he needs 3rd member for a FJ-40

yep, and has a possible broken cross member?

I thought he said sometime that he had spare 3rds but I don't know for sure

Last report was that he was broke and needing an FJ80 3rd member. Bummer that early in the race but it seems everyone is having trouble. primariliy cooling issues.

For the guys that DNF for Day 1, where do they start on Day 2?

They start in the same order, but will have a time penalty added to their total.

Racers have to finish either day one or day two in order to start day three.

So, now they have to not DNF for day 2 to even be able to start day 3.

Sounds like some good action going on. Hopefully they'll have the race next year if the BLM allows it. It almost didn't happen this year
