Anybody in the Raleigh, or Clayton, or somewhere around there have a truck I can borrow for a bit this Sat?

My brother (well, his wife!) just had his first child. He's been building a garage himself, a standard 16x25 or something, didn't get it quite done before the kiddo popped out.
This weekend we're coming in to help them out w/ a few things, and he asked if I could help him get the siding.
He doesn't have a truck, most time uses their van. But the planks are 12' long.
Said something about getting them from a Lowes in Garner since the nearest one was out of stock or something.

If somebody has something I could bum that'd be awesome. Of course Ill gladly add gas etc.
Default plan to to strap em to the roof of Darren's FJCruiser

I would be glad to help, but my truck is down waiting on parts. I have a 5x8 trailer you could use if you need to.
I am in Smithfield.

I will check with wife on plans and if nothing else I can bring my trailer down and throw it all on there..

Hey, your welcome to my truck and trailer if you need it but it's got no heat right now.

Thanks, PMed you. Weather looks decent so I can live w/o heat, if it'd be available Sat.

Appreciate the offers guys!

I'm near Clayton, and have a 6x10 trailer, I can either pull it for you or if you can, let you pull it. just outside Archer Lodge

and I need to go to Lowes anyway

Well after some careful calculations and a little redneck engineering we figured we could get it all w the van.
See below. Fyi Turns out you can fit a full 4x8 sheet of plywood INSIDE an 08 dodge caravan, only leaving those last few feet out the back in thsi case, plywood made a nice base for it.

Thanks again Len, Kevin and others for the offers! IMG_20150117_142414.jpgIMG_20150117_142401.jpg

You're taking up 2 spaces now with that stuff hanging out the back and may be considered a douche bag.

Suprised the van didn't squat more with all that in it. Must be made for fat kids in the back.

Yeah, I was too.
I was worried about it having a backward rake and things wanting to slide.
But I noticed that when it was unloaded, it actually has a slight forward rake, you can only tell w/ it empty and a sheet of plywood in it.
Plus, once you think about it - van like this is designed to carry at least 4 adults in the back, that right there could be easily 7-800 lbs. This load wasn't close to that.

Being a Chrysler it has all kinds of problems and oddities, but I gotta admit it's well design for hauling stuff. It is literally exactly 4' across inside the fender wells, even a sheet of T&G OSB wouldn't fit b/c of the extra tongue. Only wish there was some kind of structural hook/loop inside the rear hatch.

I guess it's good she doesn't have a 'Ram'.....o_O
