1/2" UHMW is the plan I think, problem is the skid is AR500 so you not drilling and tapping it
Maybe cut holes with the plasma and weld nuts on the top side to attach it.....TBDThings that make you go 
WTF At max droop there is 1/4" clearance. Why remove so much material when not necessary
Supposed professional driveshaft shop built the shafts. I'm no great welder but damn, just damn.....
