Was good catching up, and thanks for sharing a couple pours.

@CasterTroy we talked about you and a future wheeling trip,

Thank you to those who recommended the New Riff

Let me see ure a date with @BigClay so we can have two open seats and it'll be a plan

Wife hooked me up for valetines. She said she went to 7 stores around asheville before someone that worked at one looked for her and told her they "should" have 1 bottle coming in middle of the following week so she went back and got it. All while very pregnant

That's a damn good pour.

Even @UTfball68 agreed and he hates ryes

Thats a true story. Havenā€™t had a bad recommendation out of you yet, but still apprehensively accepted to be politeā€¦but it was damn good. Good enough Iā€™ve tried a couple other ryes since to see if lightning will strike twice.

Somehow just seeing this thread after 50+ pages lol........ I travel for work and was in japan last 3 weeks, its wild what you can pick up for dirt cheap in grocery stores there..... had to buy another suitcase for some crazy deals! I love me some still austin anything, redwood empire cask strength stuff is awesome and the west coast has any wellers for a 1/4 of the price, its a shame what it sooo restricted in NC and the east coast.

Alright, i need a $40-$50 bourbon for a friend. No idea what he drinks, but he's doing me a favor. I've been keeping up with this thread out is sheer curiosity, but I can't look back thru that much, lol.

Go to the hickory tree ABC

When you first walk in go right immediately. Down on the left there MAY be a bottle of Willett in a funky ass bottle

If not, follow the back wall around till it turns parallel with the windows and near the corner. 2nd shelf down should be Clyde Mays. Can't go wrong with Clyde

There were 3 of those on the allocated rack at granite falls abc, and 5 cases of buffalo trace to boot. The further you get from a city center the easier it is to find allocated

My first taste of Willett was ~, had it side by side with the Angels Envy Rum Casket (Green label).

So far my favorite has been the 'local selection' of Woodford for Statesville - "Twisted Crossroads"

Geez, you could have at least told him the number of paces to walk. He's never gonna find it.

He's not as gravity challenged as I am, so his steps are quite a bit less effort than mine

I thought y'all were friends...

And you tell the man to try pot still as a intro bourbon.

I mean that's like telling a young boy to look at Michele Obama as his first intro to wominz.

I thought it was universally understood we all buy pot still for the cool bottle and once a quarter we pour a shot down the drain so it looks like we are drinking it.

I really like pot still, so much that I shared a bottle with my Groomsmen at my wedding.

Y'all keep talking about pot, I thought you meant weed for like 3 post. I thought y'all were messing with the dude and were trying to give him the swirlies.
