Hey guys i just got a 1990 ford bronco a couple months ago. I would love to do a little stuff to it when i get some more money. Take a look at it and let me know what you think and would love any ideas or advice. And if any of yall have a bronco i would love to see some pics of it.

Welcome to nc4x4. And, welcome to the world of underpowered oversized vehicles with the most moronic stock front end setup ever. That said, I love my bronco...

good luck with ya build

Man that's a sweet looking Bronco. I've had several from the 87-91 era, great little runabouts. Only thing I would advise is ditching the AOD and finding a 351 ASAP. I prefer the dentside generation, myself:

im not sure im following the AOD? or the 351? if your talkin about the engine then ya it is a 351.

...and UTfball? please tell me thats tennessee.

Yes it is Tennessee...I just finished up my senior football season, and now am finishing up both my Accounting and Finance degrees.

And what I was trying to say was...if you had a 302 in your Bronco, best thing to do is swap in a 351. But since you have a 351...keep it...haha. I was also saying that the AOD tranny is garbage, so if you have it, I'd swap in and adapt either an E4OD or C6. I personally prefer the C6...but you lose the OD, but that's nothing a Gear Vendors OD kit couldn't fix.

my favorite toy

It's got lots of potential. lift it, lock it, and new tires. Those are always things to do, i have a roll bar for a fullsize bronco if your interested

I wouldnt swap an E4OD into anything and I have been through 3 of them. C6 definitely but the GV kit is like what over $2K.

If you want bulletproof, a 5.62:1 low range and OD, the ZF is the only way to go but you have to learn the 3 foot shuffle.:driver:

HAHA...I hear ya. I was just sayin the post-'92 E4OD (agter Ford got all the mechanical bugs outta the way) was much better than the AOD...and if he wanted the OD. And the GV kit is closer to $2700 these...what ashame. The ZF is definitely a great tranny...but like you said, you gotta be good at the 3 pedal shuffle, and that gets a little old sometimes.
