Buffy’s Shop and Bar and Grill build

Fair question, I guess my thinking was stick building would be more expensive per square ft than the prefab route. Not sure if that will be the case by the time I’m done.

With all the framing you've done, why didn't you just stick build from the start?

I know I will likely do my shop/office build in stages to attempt to save some coin. I would think stick built the whole thing would have been a lot more.

I had my lifts moved to my new shop today. Decided I wanted them in place when my final electrical connections are made.

Due to family health issues I lost my drywall guy. We could not get anyone to come finish the rooms for us so we decided to put out big boy and girl pants on a for it ourselves. On thing I can say is the guy was not shy when it came to applying the mud. We sanded every night after work this pas week and all day yesterday!! Today we got all the dust cleaned up, of as best as we could and put a heavy coat of primer on everything. It doesn’t look like it but the purple drywall does not cover wells.

The wife and I have finally made some more progress with the drywall. We have the ceilings painted and finished. We started getting color on the walls today. Had to make some patches after the paint dried but very minor. We will get the final coat on tomorrow, I hope. My plan is to set the exterior doors on Sunday.

This week’s accomplishments is we got the flooring laid in both the rooms. Next milestone is getting the trim down. Once we get the trim done we can call in the plumber and electrician and get our finals done!!

We wrapped up our final to do before the trades show up this week. Got the base boards down and installed the wife’s glass organizer. Really looking forward to having power and functional bathroom!

The cube cabinet, was it bought or built?

It’s been a hot minute since I’ve had an update. We finally got past all Alamance county inspections. Crazy wait until I could get someone to backfill around the building. Got power turned on and it’s been wonderful! Those LED lights put out the light, you just about don’t cast a shadow. We are getting stuff moved over which has been exhausting. But I did manage to customize the rooms. The wife is very happy! 😂 she won’t give me the pass code or secret handshake to gain access to her side , which sucks because the bathroom is on her side.

I’ve finished with my interior walls for now and have started moving the big stuff in the shop. Sucker filled up quick. Still have my welding machines, plasma cutter, oxyacetylene rig and miscellaneous bottles of gas left.
