Deleted Facebook earlier today. It’s amazing how free you feel immediately. I’m not one that really used it that much, but did find myself opening it all the time for no real reason. I was the guy that kept denying family friend requests and anyone that I wasn’t actually friends with that I knew from school.

I have one. Several clubs/groups use it as a sole means of communication. Makes it about impossible to keep up with them without an account. I don't use it as a social network and find the site very annoying to find/retrieve posts.

Otherwise, I'm right there with ya!

I get friend request all the time but when I do I look at who your friends are or what you've posted to your page.If your friends w known dumb asses, shit stirrers or folks who don't think the way I do it gets deleted.I aint got time for all that drama,Needless to say I dont have many "friends".Im not even friends w my own momma cause I know Ill have to deal w my sisters silliness. @Croatan_Kid barely made the cut.

Well damn, don't I feel special?!

I honestly want to delete mine, but there's a bunch of pages I follow....Duramax related things, Chevy Cummins swap, other automotive related things. Then there's marketplace where the people that are too stupid or lazy to use Craigslist post their shit for sale.

You can go to Facebook just as easy on chrome. I've posted 4-5 times in the last few years still look at it all the damn time. For no real reason. I hate there algorithms. They keep thinking I want to see stuff but all I want is the most recent.

Have FB, use it all the time. Good to keep up with family spread out across the country. But my primary use is for the groups...parts, tech, advertise 2 businesses. Forums are obsolete, every one I was a part of a decade ago are dead besides this one...and even then, it’s the same couple dozen guys posting. My biggest truck group has 100k members with 30,000 active daily. For those that don’t know, you can filter who and what you see...and for groups, like forums, there’s a vetting process to determine the good from the bad.

I quit Facebook around 2 years ago (other than the random look what I got post).
I got tired of the bs, and constant political stuff . Don't miss it at all

Fb is a damn goat rodeo and a platform for certain idiots to broadcast, but it is great to keep in touch and see life events of ppl all over the world that you wouldn't be able to see otherwise! I have friends in Brazil, Portugal, faisalabad, Germany and Australia and just had a good friend today that found me on fb that I've not seen in 8 years that's meeting up for cold beers soon! I also keep in touch with my family/buddies in the service over seas morale support if nothing else! It has its pros and cons the political bs is old and the racist bs has been old... but I'm a family man I guess

Like everything; It's what you make it.

Once you accept 90% of what you see is fake (like the people) and aren't easily butthurt, it can be useful.

Makes for a GREAT means to troll

We have some not so close friends my wife went to high school with. One is the son of a congressman and his wife is assistant DA who is now running for Judge. They were over sharing before she was running. Now, it's non stop. My wife was complaining about their sharing. I mentioned she could unfollow them or delete them.

My problem is not the content. But, how often I'm compelled to check it. If I'm in the shopnworking on something. I'll never check my phone. But let me get bored for a second I'm checking it. It's pitiful.

No problem with FB for me. When folks started posting political crap or stupid rants, they had my 3-strike rule invoked on the. 3rd strike, I unfollowed. Poof, don't see their posts anymore, but didn't unfriend. Do that through a couple of elections and your feed is what you want it to be....posts of kids and vacations and such.
Oh, and of trucks and Jeeps and engine parts as well, lol.

It's easy to filter out all the crap and see what you want.

Dated a girl right at 5 years, went out one night with another chick. Was tagged in posted pics that’s was the end of that relationship.

I found I was spending too much time on my phone. I knew how to unfollow I did that with plenty of people.
That's the major problem some ppl never get off of fb, but I'm a hypocrite bc I'm on here way to damn much...
