Bye Facebook

I'm just lucky to be on here tonight, after Something has tried to take over my PC. I've tried to eradicate it, but it seems to have my Security at hostage. I just Wonder if I got something from FB. I do see videos & an occasional add that I look at. Spent some time on Market Place the other day [ my first time]! I can't think of Anything in the last 2-3 days, that could have given me the beast! More help coming tomorrow, if that doesn't clear it up, we'll be off to the Shop.

Never had a Facebook account.
Ever.
Never seen the appeal.

I'll put it this way, those in care about instant in touch with.
Those I want to care about but don't I'll find.
Most of the others i dont remember.
The rest I'm probably better if I don't.

From time to time there was stuff I could only see on FB (auction listings) and I was using Jakes account to look at them.I made a off color comment a time or two, that appeared to from Jake,so I thought it was time to give in.

Im a big fan of the marketplace on there. I have bought some shit and its worked out well. Outside of that i have no use for it.

For me...the groups/marketplace is similar to what ebay did 15 years ago for collectors. Lowered prices and dramatically increased supply. There was a specific cruise control set up I had literally been searching for, for over a decade, never could get a lead or even find any that weren’t for sale. In the last 3 years, I’ve found 6, and bought them all. I probably buy $1-2k in parts/month that way.

Another benefit I enjoy are the discounts and free swag I get from the businesses I let advertise in my groups.

My problem is not the content. But, how often I'm compelled to check it. If I'm in the shopnworking on something. I'll never check my phone. But let me get bored for a second I'm checking it. It's pitiful.
Just to be clear - there's nothing about Facebook that is requiring this of you. It's your own choice (addiction?) to check in.

I'm with others. I use it a lot, but mostly to keep up with old friends, see how their kids are doing, share pics of our lame family activities with distant family and friends.
Yeah, people post a lot of political BS but I mostly ignore it. There are a couple of my friends/family members I like to counter back at specifically to point out their ignorance, but of course that's about as profitable as pissing into the wind.

What do you mean? That status I posted just the other day about how my candidate was right and everyone else was wrong took a drastic turn when a friend who is a polar opposite political champion attacked my intellect and family. It made me ponder just how wrong I was, and I instantly agreed with him. I see everything differently now!

o_O

I think it takes a certain number of years pissing into the wind to tire from the smell of urine enough to stop trying. Still....I find myself typing out a well thought out "argument" then deleting the entire novelette in favor of "you know I really don't give a shit how they even receive this"

Honestly I've come to accept how different some of my friends are, and have learned to overlook pretty much everything that would normally have me avoid them. Damn sure makes ME happier.

I use Facebook mostly for the groups you can find just about anything your looking for for sale and in the groups most people aren’t complete jackasses. That said I was in a group with a big headed admin, we disagreed and he blocked me and kicked me off the site.

Being a mature adult..... I made a fake profile added myself back to the group and then sat back and watch when 100+ members from another group joined this one and basically blasted the guy for being an idiot and not knowing what the hell he was talking about.

I look multiple times a day on the marketplace for various things but rarely find anything worth driving two hours for and most of the groups I'm in are full of a bunch of dipshit kids who don't know what they're talking about.I must be in the wrong groups.

Like everybody does w Fuller??? I get it,its winter and not much goin on so why not have fun w him,but damn people he aint gonna change,or take peoples advice. He's gonna keep on w the hack and tack despite what is said about it.Hes just wanting attention, any attention, and people here oblige him.

I not saying I’m much help in a technical mechanical conversation but I can’t listen to the people that don’t know shit that think they are the lead engineer somewhere.

I primarily get stuff shipped out of the groups. But marketplace isn’t too shabby either. I bought a couple of those $500 05+ SD 60’s I posted a couple weeks back. With the marketplace I Rarely ever ‘need’ anything I buy right at that moment, but if it’s a good deal, I’ll snag it. I generally defer to the groups if I need something. Just like any online hierarchy, the bigger your dick and the more nutswingers you have, the better the odds you’ll get what you’re looking for.

So your a big dick??? Theres probably some truth in that and that might be the problem for me.Im kind of the loner type and don't like hanger ons.I don't join clubs or esp like being associated with specific "groups".

Same here, all the time

"Lead engineer" doesn't mean you're technically competent, it means you're the project manager that brown nosed the most ;)

Or you're the only dumbass left that they can pawn that shitty job off on!

There's few things more repulsive than an arrogant prick with a "title" flexing for egos sake
