More getting done. My wife, mom and a painter have been working ot. I got all the trim shimmed out from the dry wall and they have it almost totally trimmed out. I got the base boards back up with quarter round in the living room, kitchen, office and the master bedroom. I have changed out outlets and switches in 3 more rooms. Tomorrow me and dad are tackling the backsplash. We also trimmed a couple of doors so we can hang them.

The best money I spent when we bought our house was on a couple of contractor packs of switches and receptacles.

Pretty sure dude ispissed you misspelled his name.

lol just today I posted up on FB about a giant bag of receptacles/switches I found leftover from when I replaced all of them in the house. Although they looked pretty new, pretty sure the PO had all the electrical redone right before sale... but the tan just didn't jive w/ our new paint.

Got the back splash up but not grouted. Then cut down 2 doors and shaved off 1/4" off the side to make laundry room doors before i found out that the walls are way off!!! Got to play with hinges and adjust the doors more.

Well had my first set back tonight. Cut the wall out to install the small door to acess the area to run the exhaust vent for the master bath. Cut the door out and dang if the vent wasnt directly centered behind the hole...

So i recut the hole and moved it up so i could clear another pipe. Got the exhaust fan in and 2 more lights and the knobs and pulls on the cabinets in the kitchen.

Hardwood flooring skills.......... Check.

Sheetrock finishing skills..........?????

sheet rock sucks worse than auto body work. You sand it think you got it good n smooth, then when you paint it it looks like a 2 year old done the work LOL

... hence the beauty of primer and using a thick-nap roller for painting. Just like using Hammered paint on trucks, texture hides all many sins.

hahaha yeah but some people want that "Show quality" finish and you cant do that with a gloss or semi gloss... sand and repeat....

This couldn't be more true! While Joe was at the beach, our sweet little dog decided to eat the wall. I figured I could fix & paint before he got home. So, off to Lowe's I went! I worked on that damn wall all weekend - it looked perfect & felt smooth til I painted it...now it's the wall of shame! :(

Got more done this weekend. Got power out to a pole for the camper and wired the out building. Also finished grouting the backsplash, got the drywall roughed in(me and dad are gonna try it. We also fixed the toilet flange and got it set and plumbed. Got both the sinks set and plumbed. Mom got all 13 stairs stained and polyed for next weeks install. We are starting to get ti the short list...

Damn just saw that. Dad did that one... There are 4 outlets around the back splash and they are 3 different breakers. That is gonna bother me to no end, guess I will go back and fix it tonight.....

Residential code lets you put them in however you want. Commercial says you have to have a neutral conductor on top. Safer that way.

I'm gonna go with "put it so the f%cking labels are right-side up". Which is smiley-face style.
