I'm gonna set up the 9" gears in a few weeks at work. I've got some truss/diff cover material that Im gonna use to beef up the housing a little bit
4.65 gear and spool
I'll use my new torch to cut all the old brackets off.....as soon as I can get my regulators set up properly:shaking:

Not yet. I've got to cut a few more things off.

I picked up a knuckle, new caliper, pads and a 36mm socket this morning

I still need a 297 u joint stub shaft

Planning on racing this thing in ECORS?

Nah. No ecors. It don't seem to be worth it this season. The jeep is getting a new grill/headlights/fenders

wow those pads look rough! Sounds like it will be a fun build. Its nice seeing cherokee's in the build section, gives me motivation to untarp mine.

I had to cut the lower ball joint castle nut off which ruined the ball joint. I rented a ball joint press but it won't fit inside the C to press the joint out. I'm gonna try to find a smaller one.
Ive also got to call and see if I can get the alloy usa shaft replaced...if not then I will get a new one on the way.
I also almost died via flying hi-lift........fun times

I got the ball joint out and I will get a new one from Napa in the AM

I just thought I post an update...

The jeep is fixed and is ready to wheel. I took it on a hell raising ride through the Richlands a few weeks ago and it did really well.

I hope to have some progress pics next week of the re rear shock mounts and rear bumper.

The only pic I have is a little art work from Bud Ice drunk Ed Fox.....aparently he thought the jeep should be called the Skeet Kee'

Classy:beer:

Yea.....definetly classy. I hope to go get that front axle and new front clip on Friday.

What stub are you running? For what it's worth, call chase and see if you can get a Nitro stub. They sell their axles independently as well (as opposed to buying the whole side or whatever).

I got a Nitro stub from chase a few weeks ago. The axle is fixed.....I just want to have some spares.

I worked on the Cherocar a little today....

The upper rear shock mounts broke off during the Harlan race last season so now it's time for new mounts and I'm changing the lowers while I'm at it.

I took some scrap 2" 1/4' wall and bored/ notched it. I mounted it on top of the U bolt eliminator plate.

*The welding isn't finished and I'm going to add a gusset on the helpin brace it to the spring plate.

I ran out of welding wire so I didn't get as much done as I wanted.

Here are the holes that the old shock mount ripped in the fender wells.

I started cutting a little for the new longer shocks

I cleaned the metal around the holes and I'm going to partch it on both sides....and run a piece of tube between them....This time the plate will be tied into the rear seat mounts and the tube will be braced to the frame.

I noticed that my drivers side front coil had a pretty bad bow to it......

I think this is why.....
