gotta go with the yota....they gots that great IFS from the factory, just can't beat it
but i do have respect for the yotas, i loved my 86 4runner, but the cherokee is just sweet and takes the cake imo, plus, it's AMERICAN!!!
If you're hesistant about the IFS (understandable), get an '84 or '85 4Runner. It'll have the solid axle front AND all the benefits of the bigger inside, removable top, etc. '85 will be fuel injected, too.
Oh, the other thing that's so much nicer about the Yotas - all the bolts are the same sizes, and very predictable based on what it does. You'll only need 4 wrenches to take apart 90% of the vehicle. I have yet to see ANY american vehicle designed like that...
