Cool dirt open wheel pic my brother sent me..

My bro has a smaller "sail fin" on his car for the open 'run what ya brung' races held at various local tracks.. His fin is made out of an old aluminum screen door frame and some plaxi stuff... Looks silly but as you can see they do work...

just sharing...

actually if you notice the bumpers (front and rear) slip into sockets and are pined on, most are .083/.095 they are ment to bend to hell when hit and can be replace in about 2 min.. The same for cars with nerf rails etc..
 
I think that bumper is there to keep the car from running under the back of another car and the other car going into the drivers cock pit, not so much a real bumper as much as a car deflecter.
 
Talk about a vehicle that would fall over in a strong wind... :lol:
 
yeah, on a calm night they work well, but any wind can throw the handling all to hell. turns one and two might handle insanely awesome, but three and four could be a nightmare, and it can change every lap. i give props to those drivers.
