Crazy build in NC and its a chevy

his is on the side of the shop temporarily till mine gets rolling. Ryan is helping on mine too, he does great work also. I couldn't happier with the progress of it at this point.

Outstanding looking build Josh. Jeremy1977 told me you had big plans for your truck, but I hadn't imagined it would be this involved. Very impressed with the progress and with how clean everything is looking so far. Stoked to see the rest of the build and see it on the trails.


For the shackles I've always been a fan of 2.5-3" wide 3/8-1/2" plate for the sides and tied together in the middle with the same plate. Simple and ridiculously stout.
 
Thanks I am stoked to say the least, I have heard all about you from Jeremy. I just bought a house right off piney green road in Jacksonville. We will have to get together sometime soon. I think a good time to meet would be when I am moving in my new house and you can help me! LOL I am going to put Jeremy to work!
 
Got a little done tonight...

Started on the 7' long monstrous sliders and ordered the diamond plate for the bed. Ryan came over to get the motor in the right place "using his truck as a reference," and while he did that another guy "Greg" pulled the knuckles off the GM D60 as we will be using them on the "new to Josh" Ford D60.

The bed looks very similiar to what I'll be doing with my BigRed, I like it.

On another note about the sliders, why not cut the rockers out and incorporate the sliders into a new rocker? Very popular with the XJ crowd and is a great platform for a cage to work with too. Just my $.02.
I do have to say that everything is looking absolutely top notch. I'm really digging how all mitered cuts are obviously beveled and ground/flapped for a clean corner/joint. Keeps me motivate to not cut corners on mine.
 
Bill wish you could see me sitting here giggling at the thought that this is my truck and not some other luck bastard that I envy. I couldn't be happier at how this is turning out. Also can't be more pleased with the quality of bills work. I can't wait to get there and do some more work.


As a side note, Bill and I got a sweet and differant idea (actually never seen it done) for the t-case which if all works out will be a doubler.
