With all talk about FOU and people trying to find a club to fit in to, what about a FOU club?

Thinking all the volunteers hang around like a mini club anyway, so why not make it a fun time also. We all seem to be like mind folks. We could have a ride once or twice a year to visit other places to see how they do there trails.

Tread lightly would be at the core vaules with a family friendly group of people....

Any thoughts or interest?

I think that it could be very productive as in bringing in good ideas and creating time for fellowship amongst each other. I definetly agree on keeping tread lightly as a core value.

There are definetly alot of wheelers that spend a lot of time at URE, Alot of those guys volunteer alot. Put them together and more will be motivated to follow.

OK I'll admit it took me awhile to figure out what FOU stood for.

In my world it means For Official Use

to be honest I like FOU not as a club but a way to bring the clubs together to achieve a goal, like fix up URE etc..

once it becomes a club you will notice some will not be as open to help another club.. ( I have been around long enough to see this ) but if it is not a club, but brings clubs together then you can always have that outside perspective and you can openly talk to multiple clubs without yourself being a club.

This.

Although, I think it needs to have some individual/club/business membership tiers like BlueRibbon, United, etc, have. That helps create a stable income base from people renewing their membership every year.

Very true.

Ok not a club but maybe the proper term would be OHV volunteer group??? My point was what Shawn nailed that we get the dues to help fund things like lunches, membership to blue ribbon etc etc

then call it an Association not a club and that would cover it all.

you can then get dues, and use money for projects, or even reinvest money into other groups under FOU name.. clubs can even then send in money to Fou just like they do to SFWDA, or United etc

I get it and agree totally, that was my idea but i used the wrong terminology...

After some thought.... I think the direction needs to be interclub, inter user group gatherings. Maybe cook out after workdays( ours and other users) with friendly campfire competions like cornhole etc etc

Include, horses, ohv, hikers, campers, all resource users??

I believe this was the intent of FOU to begin with, a way to integrate all user groups into one overarching association. I'm not very familiar with 501(c)(3) law, but I think that things get a little tricky with membership dues for an organization that falls under the 501(c)(3).

This will not be part of FOU other than a group of volunteers at URE....
