I need to get a small bulldozer towed (will drive up on trailer, but doesn't go down the highway well). Going from near Lake Gaston to Stanley, NC. Dozer is ~8900lb's and is 5'3" wide, 11 feet long. Ive got a few things I could trade, or pay cash money. Can do any day wednesday-sunday. Can ride along or meet you at both ends. Shoot me a PM or give me a call if you can help out.

Mods feel free to move or cross post if another section seems more appropriate.

pics of said dozer? Is this including gas money?

Fuel money is built into the price. I figure 10mpg for 450 miles is 45 gallons at $3/gal is $150.
Here's a few pics:

where is lake gaston? I may be pushing it with a 4 ton trailer.

8900# load + 2000-2500 for a 4 ton trailer = you're well overloaded, not just "pushing it"..

unless you can run 3000+ of tongue weight..

Yeah, Lake Gaston is NE of Raleigh. Between I85 and I95 near the VA line.

Another thought. We've got a borrowed trailer that would handle it, but I don't want to secondary borrow it. If anybody had a truck I could borrow for some amount, I could pull the trailer myself. PM me a price if you're interested in that route.

matt, i'd be willing to let you use my trailer for a few bucks if you can arrange something to tow it. it's more than rated for the load.

i'd offer to do it myself, but i've got too much going on in the next few weeks. if it's no hurry, i might could do it around the first of november. sorry...

If I had a brake controller in my truck I would do it for you using either mine or your trailer. Good luck. Anyone have a brake controller for an '05 GMC/Chevrolet 2500HD laying around?
if you find a controller, i'm pretty sure i have a harness that plugs directly into your factory harness (no cutting/splicing). it came with my controller, but i had no need for it. you can have it if you want it, it should still be around.

Appreciate it. I need to get around to buying a controller at some time. Looking at a prodigy.

Yep, thanks for the followup. Dad has a friend that is going to let us use his Dmax Dually, for FREE!
Hard to beat that. Just found out this morning.

Im not sure what a "class 2-3 truck" is. Dozer rolled into the pasture about 9:30 tonight. Truck was tagged for 24k LBs if I remember correctly. We were pulling a 9k dozer on a 2800lb trailer with a 4dr, 4wd, longbed 05 dmax. I believe it was just under 20k LBs. Dad said it drove great, truck barely even noticed the load.

Anyway, I can't wait to push stuff.

I love when I hear this.. People more than double the weight of the truck, and "couldn't even tell it was there".. They must be on good relaxers or something.

We'll, it was all interstate driving, and he's used to driving a Ford 5.4 gas motor pulling an enclosed trailer at ~3500lbs, so its a real slug. Plus he drives like a grandma, so he really might not have. Or maybe he's just not in tune with the vehicle.

It wasn't really him, so much as you hear it said all the time..

Yeah. I hooked the dozer up to my jeep this morning and drug the dozer across the yard. Just let out the clutch and gave it a little gas. Shifted up through the gears, got up to 35mph pretty easy. Must be the Swompers and the stroker pistons and the Dana 300to1 transfer case.
