this thread is to guage interest from anyone here that would be willing to commit to starting a local chapter of the downed bikers association (http://www.downedbikers.com).
the dba is a group dedicated to providing support and assistance to victims of motorcycle accidents. organized rides, events, etc. are held to raise money for downed riders, charity, etc. support in the form of visitation to riders in local hospitals as well.
having been through and still going through the trials of a wreck, and knowing how common bad accidents have become in this area due to congestion in recent years, i feel that such a group would be an invaluable support system. i would like to use my experiences to help other people going through the same thing. my sister and brother in law are active members in the ozarks chapter, and have been a part of doing some great things for people.
i am willing to initiate and organize things, but 20 COMMITED people are needed to start a chapter. a vote is held, and 5 officials are appointed. a letter is submitted to the dba for approval.
there is no requirement for what type of bike you ride. you don't even have to ride to be a member. more information, etc. about the association can be seen on the website i posted above. if you are interested in this, and serious about it, please respond here or pm me. feel free to crosspost this on other local boards, and put interested people in touch with me.
