Anywhere semi local other than fleet pride? They quoted me $128 to cut and balance a Cherokee shaft. I tried calling brakes inc but the number doesn't work so I'm assuming they went out of business. The other shops I called all said fleet pride is the only one. Anyone know of another shop?

I had Triangle Driveshaft do my last one mainly because he is only 7 miles from my house. I can't remember exact number since it's been 2 years ago but if I remember correctly I believe it was $90 to cut and balance. It ought to be cheaper for dude relies on only 1 helper and works out of a shop behind his house that's been in business for 40 years and probably paid for 1,000 times. But I remember having to wait for helper to come back from vacation before he could have mine done. So I think he's pretty much retired and just hangs out to make sure his helper does it right? So if time is of essence...

I've been holding off for I need a tremendous lot of shaft work done in the near future. But those are only 2 places I know local? I'd love to know somewhere else around that can compare with prices and reviews as some of the other places I hear from this site located in Greensboro and WS areas...

On side note, TD of D guy balanced my shaft with yokes turned the same way. The Pirate thread says they need to by 90^ from one another when balanced??? Haven't had any problems with mine but makes me wonder why Pirate unanimously agreed on 90^ to make it into the driveshaft bible thread???

I use Triangle Driveshaft unless he tells me it's gonna take awhile.

Called Triangle Driveshaft about it and he said it would be around $100. Is that just the going rate now? Seems with the cost of the shaft it isn't too much cheaper than having a custom shaft made.

When they had to retube mine it came out at around 170 with new u joints. The next time I just bought a new one for 270 or so from Carolina Driveline. Saved me time in the end without having to drive there and back during the work day. Then I also could use the other ujoints and centering ball in another driveshaft I need them for. Seems like that is about the going rate these days.

Both prices I got were without ujoints or any other work to rebuild so the ~$270 is starting to look better

I wouldn't complain about 100 bucks.... the most recent shaft I bought was 338 bucks and that was the front for my SAS Silverado; the rear was 368.

We charge $60 for that service, just say'n.
