So there i was carrying my cheap Black Friday dell computer when it started sliding out of my grasp. As I awkwardly twisted sideways to catch it, a bolt of white hot pain shot thru my body when I pinched a nut in my jeans. My body when limp for a millisecond and the laptop fell to the floor. Now the screen doesn't display anything anymore, the hard drive still spins, the fan runs, lights blink, etc. I have no idea if it's just the display, or something inside. I plugged it into the HDMI port on my tv, but having never done that before, I'm not sure if that is plug-n-play, and nothing came up anyways. Besides getting looser fitting jeans, what should I do?

plug into a computer monitor and then hit Function key and F8 see if the display shows up, if not hit the function and F8 again.. try 3 times if no luck you have have other issues

the function key and F8 will usually send the display from laptop to the second screen you have plugged in

Being it is a dell and a black friday special...I have a guess to the answer but nay idea if it has an integrated graphics card or a separate chip set?

If separate its feasible the graphics display card simply got jarred loose..

Also if you turn it off (hold the power button for 5 secs, that will always kill it) and turn it on w/ the lid closed but plugged into a monitor, it should boot up to the external display.

Yeah if you're lucky something just got shook loose. Could even just be a RAM module or something.
