Dynamite Design - Snappy SxS

Not bashing, just saying it's a lot of weight. I'll gladly explain, no harm no foul.
Its not just the weight but the chain of effects it causes so here we go. UTVs struggle so much with weight and making the shitty belts last. When you add weight no matter how much it effects the clutching, load and grip on the belt causing loss of power, strain and heat on the belt which cuts it's life down. It effects axles and diffs which are nearly junk on all the UTVs and causes more problems. These issues are nothing like a jeep or truck but we deal with the sport market.
When Snappy called me he asked what he should look for when buying a UTV. The answer to that was check the balljoints, wheel bearings and if possible the belt because their life expectancy sucks.
So like my first words were, I like it, I like the quailty, I think if it was built with .083 fillers and .095 mains it would be more than strong enough and one of the best 800 cages I've seen. Weight just kills these things and I struggle with it on mine as well.
I hope you don't take offense to my comments. I meant no disrespect even if it came across that way.
Sorry to throw this off track, my fault, post some more pictures up.

From a technical stand point, your check list there sounds right. I'm not sure how the older 800's compare to the newer 800 S models, but from my experience.... We have a camper up in WV, and my dad tirelessly follows me and my brother around for hundreds of miles at least once a month, carrying fuel, food, tools, big ass cooler, and whatever else kind of redneck crap he can fix up.... The only time I go up there is when there are not any big groups so we can run hard and fast, but my dad runs it up there twice a month. The only problems he seems to have is the front shock bushings, and tires.

I'm still trying to figure out if I like the half way notch on the roof line. What's your thoughts? Looks great. I know you not done with it. Super fast work , I guess your going to do a lower windshield bar and connect the front end?

Yeah, my thought on it would be that type of notch has certain places it shouldn't be used. Is it stronger, maybe. Is it weaker, doubt it. Is it ever going to break. Not a chance.

Yeah I have some work to do on the front end and some tabs to make for all of the attachments. I'll be back at the shop tomorrow. Should have it done by the evening.

I like the extra tube.. and know snappy wont have to worry when his kids are riding in it

Until it comes back to the shop for more work, he will have to do the updates on it because I didn't get any pictures after a certain point in the last couple days. Other than leaving the shop anyway.

looks good. not much in the way of front corner protection though.

Yeah, I agree. Kind of had an argument with it myself, but I think the lights and plastic will survive a roll. Although if one of the tires crash hard enough on a tree, there would be damage either way. Maybe it's the weak link, but it's in his line of sight and control.

I love the cage/tubework, and No worries about the extra tube, i built a cage with tied in bumpers for my Dad's 800s with a very similar amount of 1.75 x .120 tube and couldn't tell any difference in how it drove, or loss of power or extra body roll either.
