Can anyone confirm that the tailpipe emissions inspection for less-than-25-year-old vehicles, in Wake County, has expired as of year-end? They didn't renew it did they? I've got an '85 F-150 that's due this month, and its registered in Wake, but doesn't normally live here, and I'd rather not have to bring it up.

Shouldn't it just be safety inspected now?

Thanks,

Alan

Yep, anything 1995 and older gets a safety only. YAAAAY! Just got my truck done too. Only like $10.

older than 1970 no inspection at all! if it dose not have an OBII conector then it is safty only. cars older then 1996 do not have OBII. Live just keeps getting better.

Hey get this, a buddy has a brand new Mazda6 - guess what, the connector isn't OBDII, it's some other funky plug - when he went to get the initial inspection (bought in Minnisota), they told him they could only do Safety b/c they couldn't use his connector, lol.

Is this just for Wake county or is it state wide? I think Forsyth county is still doing the emissions test on older than '95.
