Let me just tell ya'll about my great weekend I've had. This will be long but very funny. It all started on Friday.
-I finally recieved the gear box for my son's Jeep Power wheels that he tore out last weekend. So I put it in and he ran one battery down with it I charged it and he rode it after we got home from URE Saturday for a few minutes and broke the same gear box AGAIN!! Luckily I had ordered two gears for it so I fixed it AGAIN and all was good.
-I was looking forward to camping w/ my oldest son Friday at URE but turned out I had to much work to do so we decided to leave out early Sat. morning to attend the SFWD meeting and ride the rest of the day and come home. I loaded the Jeep Friday evening and forgot to hook the latch on the trailer and almost ran it through the rear of my truck. Luckily nothing major happened. I woke at 5am Sat to get ready to leave only to find out my A/C unit was froze up and I didn't have any air. I wouldn't be so bad but I've got a six month old and a wife at home. So I go ahead and leave for URE after throwing my 3 yr old in the truck and start calling my A/C man at 7:30 and finally talked to him around 9am and told him to go ahead and fix it soon as he can knowing he's going to break it off in me for coming on the weekend. So the meeting went good and we were getting ready to ride and I was running behind cause I forgot the sunscreen. So when I finally got on the road I apparently turned the opposite way of everyone else and drove a few miles and didn't find any members of my club so I thought I better turn around and go the other way. Here's where it gets good. I finally got turned around and was on the way back when the Jeep made a loud pop and completely died. I 'm thinking either I'm out of propane and it backfired or the battery exploded. Well the smoke started boiling out of the hood on the passenger side and I jump out to go around and get Mason unbuckled cause I'm thinking the Jeep is going to burn to the ground. I then thought DAMN I forgot my fire extinguisher and I never leave it at home but I'm usually not riding by myself either. Luckily the wire that feeds the fuse box burnt in two and the smoking quit. Well I had no cell service and I couldn't get anyone on my CB. After about 10-15 min I finally made a mayday to CTB and told my position and I finally got a faint reply and it wasn't long till Chip and his son came to my rescue. Thinking we could just cut the bad out of the wire we put a new end on it and hooked it back to the solenoid and hooked the battery back up only to burn the wire on the other end of the wire at the fuse box. I was like 95 degrees so we decided my day was over before it got started. So Josh took me back to get the tow rig and I loaded up and was gone by noon. So I get home and the a/c guy comes and puts 2 1/2 lbs of freon in the unit and says I have a leak in the coil and it needs to be changed soon. He hands me a bill for $160 and tells me it shoulda been $185 since it was the weekend and he was only there for twenty minutes. Now this is a man I've given $30k worth of work in the last few years so needless to say we had words and neither was happy when he left. But I still paid him. Last night the a/c unit was really lound for some reason but I didn't think much about it so I went on to bed.
I woke up this morning AGAIN to a warm house but this time the unit wasn't frozen so I figured it was something else or was completely out of freon. So I called yet another a/c guy. He determined the compressor wasn't coming on so we thought it was locked up and I'm thinking Holy crap. He installed a starter box on the capacitor and it fired up. I was relieved some what till he reassured me I still have a leaking coil which he informed me would run $800-$1000 that I needed to do very soon like this week. So he wrote me a bill for $100 which I thought was reasonable. So atleast for now I have a/c.
Wait I'm not done yet!! I had been hearing my refrigerator making a buzzing sound w/ an odd click every so ofter throughout the day today and I thought surely nothings wrong w/ it after the weekend I've had. Damn it if I didn't open the freezer about 9pm and everything was about half thawed out. So I phoned the Maytag man (my father inlaw) and he comes over thinking it was the relay. I told him he better just go ahead and check the compressor first after the weekend I've had and believe it or not the compressor would not come on. So he pulls out yet another starter box just like the one I bought earlier in the day for my a/c and he wired it up and luckily again the compressor started up. When he left he said my bill will be in the mail. haha. I do have to pay for the starter box and cook him a steak dinner for coming over on a Sunday night to work. As I'm sitting here typing I can hear both my a/c unit and my fridge making odd noises so I can't wait to see what my week holds for me.
Just a few quick things that happened in addition to the major things.
-Went to the mail box Sat. and in addition to all my regular bills I got a letter from the IRS stating I owe them $150 more for some odd reason. Wohooo
-I ate out three times this weekend and everytime the waitress or cashier royally screwed up my order so it was a big agrivation each time.
-The battery on my golf cart took a dump today and won't charge back up so there's another $80 for the week.
-The ground hogs and squirrels have had full bellies the last few days thanks to the garden I worked so hard to plant them.haha
-My lavatory faucet is leaking like crazy and cannot buy the part cause it's lifetime warranted and Price Phister can't figure out which cartridge is in my fixture.
-My batteries died in the satellite remote Friday night and I didn't have any new one to replace them w/
-I got crapped out of $250 on a $500 debt that was owed to me today.(long story)
-The awning on my camper broke today and I had to fix it.
-To top all this off I stepped on the scales a while ago and I've gained almot 5lbs since Friday and I feel fat haha
All in all the has been a very eventful and EXPENSIVE weekend. It's not very often I say this but I'll be glad when Monday gets here cause it has to be better than this weekend.
But even after all that has happened I can smile when I lay down tonight cause I have two healthy, happy, and handsome little boys and a beautiful wife that loves me no matter what and a roof over our heads.
