EXTREME OFFROAD havelock...goldmine in the shadow

Ive never done businees with Extreme Offroad but I always get a return phone call. I called at 9pm one night just to see if I could hear the business hours and nobody aswered. 10 minutes later he calls me asking me what he can do for me. This happened a few times so im under the impression he is a pretty good guy and he also sounds like he knows his stuff. I would not hesitate to do businees with him if he wasnt so far away.

Just FYI, Aron Jolly's rig was there for months with nothing done to it.... And it wasnt because he didnt front the guy any money! The guy builds some big stuff, I will give him that.... But I wouldnt call anything he does remotely close to rockcrawling!

910 out there I think.

Sorry to hear you dont think he does anything remotely close to rockcrawling, He goes to Tellico every year and does not have a problem, All the harder trails he knocks out, sometimes in 2wd. Dont judge if you have never seen him wheel. Guys that he does work for knows his quality and service.

For the comment from NEC, I dont make a dime off him. Trust me he is not hurting for work in anyway. I wanted him to do a quick axle rebuild and he turned it down because he is too busy. When I think of a hardcore wheeler he is the only person I know of that explodes Detroits everytime he wheels.

BUT, he is old school, He was in top truck challenge way back in 97-98 back when it was wheelin and not rock crawling.

Oh well, if you need work done check him out. If he has the time you will not be disappointed

his setup must be shit if he is exploding detroits every time out. i must have missed the point where that became cool.

Nope, would not say his setups are shit. He runs nothing but Chromoly, 60fronts, 14bolt rears. 44-52 inch tires, with detroits or posi's. Disc brakes all around. All with big horse power. Parts brake all the time when adding upgrade parts. Never said it was cool, just that he is as hardcore as it gets. When you own 10-20 Trucks that could all compete with the best of them it sounds kind of ignorant for someone to discount that.

running 52's on a 60 is ignorant!

It;s funny how he takes these trips when he is so busy but it is ironic Aaron Jolly had a rig sit there for 2 months or so with cash paid up front and the only thing that managed to happen was the axles got pulled from it and the new springs mounted and setup and the new axles bolted in. I believe the actual quote was from Alex mind you I'm not sure I can put toyota axles under your sami with YJ springs b/c I have never done anything that small and not sure what all is involved. For someone with his background it's not rocket science. I also love his drop hangers that are 8" long on some of his rigs. :D I didn't see anything rock ready not to mention rock worthy up there. Yes he has a nice outfit in his shop and will take time to talk to you but I couldn't get over the fact of how some people came in there and just wanted the all show no go 38's under a Z71 and Alex swore they couldn't fit them unless they used a 12" whiplash kit or something ungodly like that or a solid axle swap which of course would have had those death fang drop hangers :flipoff2: Not very professional of his business either when he says I can pick up Jolly's rig at 7pm, I drive over an hour there only to find no one is there and he won't answer phone calls. Better yet the rig had no axles under it.

Ok, i am still new to wheeling.. but since when did you need big horsepower to wheel??? I think the 4 banger jeeps, yotas, and zukes do just fine if not the best out there...

and 60's with 52's? damn..:driver: Glad I didnt take my junk there....

52 will snap 60s like they are toothpicks:D
High HP and 52... its almost given to run rockwells

He does run Rockswells on some.

Hmmm, I have seen these trucks with 52s and a 60 up front and 14 bolt rear. I have not seen anything fail. He uses the strongest parts. Is that why it does not break?

well if the 60's and 14b according to you won't break, why would he use rockwells on some???

Well, he has one truck with rockswells that he is doing a 4wheel steer. But I think he is running 49s not 52:D

He normally runs very strong stuff. I think he just built a SYE for a 205 or 203 he is testing.

To answer your question above about why he would use rockwells on some. He uses rockwells on some probably because he can? I will talk to him today and see....

Sure they do fine but lets get real. Would you rather have high horsepower to cross water, mud or do a verticle climb or low horsepower.....I would not think anyone would pick low...IF given a choice

my bets on patrick, at least he won't have to worry about grenading his front end when he gets on the skinny pedal:flipoff2:

i think my low horsepower 4 banger buggy could hang with his rig....

Very possiable you could hang with him rockcrawling, but in the mud, you would not be able to go where he goes. Just not enough to get through 60" deep holes. Hey, to be honest I would rather have a buggy than a 14 foot truck but I guess he does not.

I was at that place this morning... I had an equipment delivery to next door. I talked to the owner I guess about some tires. hopefully he'll call me back tomorrow with a good price. he's got a 3rd gen yota on a 60/14 combo on 42"'s
it looked like. also some mud whumpin' goodol'boy stuff. seems to be a nice guy though
