It would look dumb even on a $22.5k Bronco, but is completely wrong on a $225k offering.

I don’t need another project but I could use a tractor with a loader. Hmmmm.

Look at the distance from the bucket edge to the front wheels, then look at the distance from the front wheels to the back wheels. This thing is gonna drive terrible and have almost no traction, and also not be able to cut dirt well or pick up much. Of course you can counter that with a heavy bushhog hanging off the back, but now your tractor is approaching 30ft long and isn’t very handy anymore.

You just described every front end loader on a pre compact/subcompact era out in the world. Plenty operators learned what they would and would not do. They are not nearly as efficient as modern platforms but hands down beat a shovel and wheel barrow.

I'd put that heavy ass 6' box blade on the back. Instant short weight. It's tempting to me if it can be gotten cheap and the motor turns over.

Beyond the front end loader, do you really want a gas tractor?

And I'll get dragged for this, but do you need another project?
Gas or diesel doesn't really matter to me that much. I know I don't want anything with DEF or DPF. No I don't need another project I need a garage in Camden. LOL!

You are correct, which is why there was a whole new era. Growing up we had a 40 horse Case industrial tractor with frontend loader and backhoe added on, and the frontend loader was almost useless unless you were scooping a loose pile of dirt. Fortunately I was able to offload it to Shawn a few years ago and its been not my problem ever since :D

The main problem with those old loaders is that they are 1000-1500lbs and are built heavy enough to match up with a 50-80hp tractor that weighs 10k+ pounds, but they are put on a 3000lb tractor with a short wheelbase and no power steering. So now you have a 4500lb tractor, with only 1500lbs of traction off the rear, and 3000lbs of load carried on the skinny front tires. Adding counterweight certainly helps, but once you actually get enough counterweight to make it stable, your 3000lb tractor now weighs 6000+ and doesn't have enough horsepower :D

So when did the tractors change to be better? 80's? Later? Ideally I'd like to get something newer just not too new with a loader.

Yea for that kind of dollars I'll be buying a mini x instead. Those are cool but I think someone said they are not as good as they look like they would be. Side note. Is that a hydrophilic chainsaw?

I hadn’t looked through all of the pictures. Damn sure looks like it. I’ve never seen that before.

@gost I have this guy....video for reference

Mine was a vs without the back hoe. Frame is ready for one if you found one to put on.

It's done everything I have asked it to. Entertaining selling as I have inherited two other tractors that need work. It's not cherry but I used it for 6 hours last week pulling a 6 foot Gill (sp?) Box blade.

Yea I looked at them all. I think those things are cool and didn't realize they had saw ans hammer drills and other tools that were on them.

I'm not really in the market just looking and watching and dreaming. That being said your MF checks a lot of boxes. I'm not ding anything until I see what I have to pay the man in taxes this year.

@ghost

If you really want a pos to mess around with, my dad has an old Ford industrial gas backhoe. I'd love to get it gone. I haven't gotten it running since we moved it over to his house 5 years ago.

Well, he paid WAY too much for it, so getting him to almost give it away is challenging.

This gave me a chuckle. I guess I have a soft spot for the ugly duckling. Something like this?

Yep, pretty common on bucket trucks. My old bucket truck had the wet lines for one, but I never bought one. They are light but you then have a couple hydraulic lines hanging off the end. They also make hydraulic pole saws.

If I was a young...wealthy man.This place is in Jonesville VA and thats about 30 mins from the Mcdonalds at Duffield and 30 miles from Harlan.
