This hits my heart heavy!!
No I didn't know her personally but in this sport we are all family, she shared and loved what I do as too many of us.
Praying for her family, friends and all of our off road family!!
PLEASE everyone let's wear our protective gear!!
RIP....in my thoughts and prayers.
A group of friends and I met her in Harlan at New Years. She was very nice and bubbly. So sad to lose someone so sudden and in that way. Praying for her family and friends in this time of tragedy. Rest in peace
We met Shannon and Jerrod Yankee this past New Years at harlan. We checking out little jagger when them and the csc fab guys showed up. Talked to them for a while and watched them wheel jagger and the lower rock garden. Had kept up with them over Instagram ever since. All around awesome people, didn't know them very well and only spent a short time with them, but Shannon and Jerrod left a great first impression.
So sad for the entire wheeling community and for their family.
This is such a tragedy.
Their entire family will be in our thoughts and prayers.
It's a terrible thing to hear when someone is injured in this or any sport and I have bitched at a lot of people over the years over seatbelts and it seems that it's always the same ones over and over. Since yesterday I have seen tons of pics of her pop up on other social sites and I could not help but notice just how many pics there was that she did not have her belt on.
OK rant over.
A lot of us are guilty of riding with out belts on. Most of us fill safe and invincible in our rigs. After a bad accident at tellico years ago I believe in seatbelts. Short of loading my rig I at least have the lap belts on. May catch me riding to a spot without anything on but most of the time I do. If one wants to rant and point fingers I am sure they are guilty of it. I have ran the SRRS series and learned a lot about safety at events and just riding in general.
I would like to point something out thhay many people over look and it is a simple head protection device when trying obstacles. That is a good start along with when trying something real bad a simple neck device is not a bad idea.
Now not saying anything bad about Shannon but it is a sad thing that happened.
