Flooding?

Looks like we may have a hurricane to contend with this weekend...if so, it's going to be just like Irene was. Several days of hard soaking rain and then a hurricane comes through. Makes it nice and easy for the winds to blow over trees and such. I hope it dissipates and nothing comes of it except for some more rain!

I am glad I live on a ridge. Not worried about flooding at my personal property but main roads could be hit. The SHTF in me hates the fact that I don't have a rear axle in my rig. When we have big rain and snow or some freak wind storm, I enjoy getting out and checking on all my peeps.

My rig was ready to go until I pulled the front axle out from under it today. The weather was nice and it was dry for a good bit of the day then the heavens opened for two hours. I'm hoping Asheville takes the brunt of the storm if it comes from the coast.

WRAL is saying up to 7 inches between now and Sunday. Wow

Yup, going to be bad. All that on top of already fully saturated ground.

And the pond in the back yard is still down 18" here.

Rob, buy your seed in the future at Green Resource off Westinghouse BLVD. Not only is it better quality than Lowe's (99.997% weed free) it is also half the price.

I looked this morning, my seed seems to be mostly in place. I worked it into the ground by going over the whole area in a circular motion. That tears up the ground rather than just poking holes in it. I hope it survives the deluge.

I was going to go to Uwharrie this weekend. Could probably kayak down most trails. Reckon that is not a good idea. I love wheeling during a storm, but sounds like you could easily get blocked in by trees or jeep swept away by a flash flood.

Sounds pretty awesome to me!

Wanna ride with, I still wanna go but @CurtisH backed out on me.
Well I'd love to, but the 7.5 hr trip to get there is hard to deal with. Unless you wanna pick me up at the airport.
But this guy...
Uwharrie!

That's not too far from where I'm going now, I'll price them next time I'm looking to buy

Weather service is talking 18" of rain in some places of the Carolina's creating a 1,000 year flood event!

Yeah I watched fox8 and the triad area is supposed to only get 3" now.
I think they get everyone all worked up for ratings. I'm kinda bummed, was looking forward to a good storm
