Folding pocket knives

A Gerber para frame in whatever size tickles your fancy. Strong, sharp enough, tough as nails, and cheap enough that when you break or lose it you just go buy another. Been carrying the same 3.5" model since grade school!

I have a Spyderco Chapparal…sharpest factory blade I’ve ever had. Feels good in the hand, but Spyderco blades always feel flimsy to me. So I don’t use it much, since it can’t double as a flat blade/chisel/pick/etc. I snagged the Buck n Bear, because I thought it looked awesome, gets a lot of use, but is a heavy knife, holds an edge really well and only in the $100 range. I’ll be buying more. The Browning, is cheap ($30ish), if I lose it or it breaks, I don’t care, which is probably its biggest selling point, and is what I daily. The browning has been in my pocket every day for the last 3 years and run it through a cheap sharpener every few months. Had one before it for about 7 years, that I lost.

I have a Benchmade as well. I've had several Kershaw's and a smith and Wesson. But every one of my past pocket knives clips had issues with the screw anchors. That's my only failure but it's been with every single knife EXCEPT the benchmade
I always bend the clip on the steering wheel of my trucks when i get in them then after awhile they break off. The bugout clip is shorter and more tight to the knife so it never really catches on anything. Another plus to me is that its not a liner lock knife so i can open and close it with one hand.

P.S. the steering wheel in question is the one in my 89 s10. Whys its only that one...... 🤷‍♂️

I had a couple knives that the same happened. Once it got stuck on my Jeep seatbelt as I was getting out literally shot across the jeep into the woods.
Spyderco sent new ones no charge.
Check out Lynch deep carry clips. I have yet to bend or break one and lots of options to match whatever knife you have.

I started carrying a sailing knife and have really enjoyed having the added utility of the marlin spike

Benchmade Griptilian. I do the 154cm, sheep's foot blade with serations and a deep pocket clip. I've got 5 total. I need to send the other 4 back for new blades. I straight up abuse them. Everything you shouldn't do with your pocket knife...yeah, I do that. I usually wind up cutting steak with it soon afterward.

I still carry the good ol Wave+ everywhere with me. I removed the clip and keep it in my pocket watch pocket with a micro stream. Haven't had a "real" pocket knife in years.

Rocking a Delica4 for 12yrs now, not 'cheap' but I love the simplicity, color choice and 4-position pocket clip attachment. The blade is slowly becoming a butter knife, and who knows when I'll convert the tip to flat-head screwdriver.

What do you use the spike for?

Kershaw for me. I cut plastic lumber bands and wrappers all day with it. Couldn't be happier for the price. Had it probably 1.5 years now.
I'm not going into battle with it or anything. That's what my pistol is for.
$36 on Amazon

I'm still carrying the Benchmade i picked up used off of here. I have to say it's been my favorite knife. But, I'm too cheap to buy a new one.
Similar here.
Literally next door to our yard and my shop is Microtech Knives and Marfione Custom Knives. I had no idea they were so $$$.
Amazing quality however.

Same one, without the serrations for me.
I found a 10 pack of them on ebay like 5 years ago, I still have 3 left.

I flipped the clip around, I'd rather carry tip up.

Also have had this Gerber for over 20yrs sitting in the console/glovebox of whatever my DD is. It was DD’d for about 10 of those years. Have no idea if Gerber is any good anymore…but if I ever lose this one, I’d definitely get another. I’ve never owned another Gerber, but anytime I’ve ‘upgraded’ to another multitool, I go back to this one.

That's when Gerber was made in USA. Never find that again.

Similar situation for me

Been carrying a Microtech Ultratech for around 20 years. I’ve got a few of them to choose from so when they need some love I’ll drop them off at their shop for a sharpening and tune up for free. I have never had one break and luckily have never lost one “knock on wood “. I will cut anything, strip wire, pry, and use as a scraper.

I saw a selection of these for sale in the LGS the other day. They looked nice. I didn’t even check the price - assumed it was out of my range.
I had knife envy when Dave (Oliver's) showed me his. It was TWICE as much as my benchmade, so I just admired it from a far
