Ok...I have been diagnosed with alopecia areata.
This means I am starting to get circular bald spots on my melon. Its been easy to cover up, but its now getting a little worse and I look like a freak. (docs say hair should/could grow back with time)

So. If ya cant beat em, join em.

I just shaved my head w/ the clippers and now its time to get it slick.

Which is the best razors to use?
Which shaving cream?

I figure, once my scalp gets used to it, maybe just shave w/ whatever. But for now, I'll bet it's going to be sensitive, so I want some advice.

Also...post up some pics of yalls bald heads so I'll feel like I am in the company of pals! :bounce2:

If I were you, I'd be more concerned with picking the best sunscreen. :D

I'm no help otherwise.

yeah, thats another thing I have to think about now.

My head is white, so do I go for a high spf and block the sun, or go lower and get a tan?

I would think a Lady's razor to go with the contours of your head. Use plenty of aftershave afterward. lol
Tan it gradually.
Thinking of doing the same thing Dylan

god only made a few perfect heads, the rest he covered up with hair. i started shaving mine a while back and don't know why i didn't years ago. it's tough in the winter though, cold as hell with out at least a little bit of fuzz up there. i use a electric razor on mine.

I find it irritating to actually chave it with a razor, just buzz off as close as possible, shaving irritates my head. Plus buzzin it off once every so often is quick and easy.

You got the right idea Jason... been doing it that way for years. :)

this is dylan we are talking about... he should be wearing a ski mask, or a paper bag.

HAHA.

Dylan....i forgot to mention earlier.....in my experience with having a shaved head, i had to lay down a rule when im out in public.

If you rub the head...you have to come home with me.

The ladies are gonna want to rub your head. Going bald is a PLUS!!!! the women cant keeps their hands off my head.

for the record, that lines doesnt work as often as i would like....but its worked :driver:

Like i said..ladies love a Smooth Dome.

mach 3 and any sensitive/ultra sensitive shave gel(gilette) what i use.
i suggest keeping it cut short for a while and getting some sun before shaving. otherwise you will have the classic white scalp. ive been shaving my head since senior yr in hs. 11yrs now.

I shaved mine smooth for a few years.. but it got old quick.. now I just go as short as possible with clips and like it a lot more..easy to maintain and I can cut it 3 mins before work

Thanks for the tips guys. I have done it...First, I clipped it as low as possible, but you could still see the bald spots.I actually found more spots than I knew about. So, of course, I couldnt leave well enough alone. I figured if I took a razor to it, and made it slick, the spots wouldnt be noticed. I was wrong. It seems the spots are slicker than any head shaving. Oh well, I'll plash on some sunscreen and hang out in the pool and maybe I wont look like Powder anymore.

I use the original mach3 and the cheapest shaving gel I can find. I shave while in the shower also.

Fusion > Mach 3... Any Gillette Gel works great... Shave against the grain w/ a Fusion and it's baby back slick son! Be sure to keep the sink 3/4 full of water and use it to clean the razor out after every few strokes.

And as mentioned above, ladies love a smooth man. EVERYWHERE;-)

Went to the bar tonight.....

my head got rubbed probably a hundred times.

Welcome to the club bud. :shaking:Just some good advice , don't use cheap razors , your head will thank u . Also shave it really smooth so you can get out of a head lock by the wifey. Also with this weather , be ready to sweat , alot. I start beading up with spicy food .
You can always get a wig, I won't tell .

you can always use the "Im not bald, its a solar panel for a sex machine" line........ works gooood.:flipoff2:

Dylan, I use a headblade, and their shaving cream. Rite Aid usually keeps both on stock. It will take Atra blades, which I prefer, or another blade that uses 3 blades, I forget the name, but I don't much like the 3 blades.
