gas

bwahahahaha....

so what if it goes up 50 cents a gallon....we heard that at supper tonight...and on the way home, noticed that at every station, cars were lined up out to the street waiting for a pump. At .50 a gallon, if I did need a full tank, I'd save fifteen bucks. I'm just shy of a half tank now, so only save 8 bucks or so.....IOW, not enough to be worth my time to put up with that craziness!

I won't be surprised if half the stations are running out tomorrow...those with gas left will use it as an excuse to raise prices even more.

I got plenty of propane, I'll just drive the Jeep. :)
 
$1.30 to $1.50 price jump is expected, according to a friend of mine that works for an oil company. He told me that they shut down the gas line and Apex and Selma had no gas to deliver. Some stations here started a 10 gallon limit tonight and it started earlier today in SC.
 
that aint true...I live less than 10miles from selma terminals and they were busy as ever. Also I drove a Tanker for Waccamaw before my daughter was born for two yrs out of selma. They dont run out of gas....trust me
 
Just another excuse to jack the prices. I lived on the Gulf coast in Alabama for quite a few years and went through hurricaines and saw how the refineries in MS and LA were able to withstand the storms quite well. Freinds of mine who worked for big oil said they were built for this. They may stop work to let the storm pass but they are not down for longer then that. Plus there is enough in the pipeline system to supply the nation for a couple of weeks without problems even if all refineries in nation shut down. Seeing as the refineries are spread out and not all in Huston I don't see that happening. Just another example of media or rumors artificially inflating the price.
 
Everybody runnin out and buyin gas is part of what causes a shortage and runs the price up.
 
Might as well buy bread and milk too.
 
Uhhhh....if not another gallon of gas is refined we will not run out of surplus supplies for about 10 months...

my God people quit WANTING a CRISIS

True, and I drive a diesel truck so I could mostly give a shit about gas...but tonight every station in morganton was out of regular and plus and some were out of premium as well. Thanks to people like td4runner telling everyone to fill up... :flipoff2:
 
radio stations are saying gas will be 5-6 dollars a gallon by in the morning because of the hurricane.
 
No, gas will be that because of 1) people panicking and making local supplies temporarily run short and 2) retailers taking advantage of the panic rush on stations.
 
I just came through Sanford on my way home and every fricking gas station was packed. Save more had about 30 cars there.

Hurricane Ike is going to stop oil drilling and gasoline production and shipping for a good while once it hits Texas...
 
Ike. Gonna hit around Houston TX. Some folks think that oil refining capabilities will be severely damaged and prices will go thru the roof. I just got an email a bit ago saying ten bucks a gallon by morning. :)

Apparently the oil rigs wernt even back up to full capacity yet due to Gustav..
 
Fuck it im gonna walk. I dont need any fucking gas. Them motherfuckers can go fuck them selves with the fucking gas prices.....goddamn rich bastards. Im glad I got a fucking bike ill ride it every day while throwing my burning cigarette at the fucking pumps as i ride by. Fuckthem!

I was told by the clerk at Murphys to buy gas now, cause she has been instructed to change sign at midnight...goes up 1.50 at midnight. Their gas was 369 already.
I filled up the wifes car and came home.

Then I took every car I have and filled up at citgo for 3.51. They close at 10 and leave the current prices up till they open in the am. BUT their pumps take cards all night and the price was still 3.51......if prices jump like they say, I will be glad i did that.
