Going to DC, best places to see?

Ordnance museum is GONE!
No longer at Aberdeen Proving Ground.

Which is too bad, was a very cool HUGE selection of tanks dating back to WWI. I used to drive past it every day.

When did that happen?

Haha, you about right! My McDowell county ass doesn't do public transport often!

When I first moved up there from Marion I circled the entire city on the Beltway the first day trying to figure out where I was!

Metro wasn't too hard to figure out once you take it a couple of times, but you couldn't pay me to take one of their buses!

Started the move in... 2011? Finished about 2 years ago now.
I drive past the now-empty field and building every day and miss it.

Vietnam memorial , and Lincoln memorial , we are using the metro and DC circulator buses to get around. Just got out of the museum of natural history. Freaking awesome!

Sitting outside now , crowds are insane!

The metro is crazy fast, no one talks or looks at each other. Seen a few bums, but otherwise uneventful.
The circulator bus within the national mall is awesome, stops at all major sites and is only a dollar! I spent 5 bucks riding metro twice and rode circulator bus all the way around.
Back in hotel now, legs are give out.

It's pretty easy once you get a groove, but I know the unknown can make you apprehensive. Them city people is a different breed

best thing to see in DC is the DC city limits sign in the rearview mirror as you leave

We went to the white house this morning, natural history museum and the ww2 memorial. The whole places is insane crowded today. Going to Arlington tomorrow.
The holocost museum was awesome and very well done.
