Good Mornings Thread

"I don't want to cook or deal with anybody's shit," literal or figurative, has always been my Mother's Day request. Today we're hosting the monthly family lunch, so I did the cooking yesterday.

I was treated to a breakfast burrito cooked on my last year's Mother's Day gift, the Blackstone. I have a snotty 6-month-old, though, so fingers crossed a nap cures this ill.

Every Sunday for years now, my daughter and I go out to breakfast together. Normally IHOP, the staff know us well by now.
Today of course they were flooded w people like @UTfball68 taking Mom out, so instead we went a local dive, the Sunny Day Cafe.

Someone recently flipped some switch and this tiny girl now packs away the pancakes

Good morning ☀️

Whatever was wrong with my daughter jumped on me. I started hurling about 2am and stopped about 10am but nauseous like I’ve never experienced. My wife gave me a Phenergan and I have finally gotten down half of a gatoraid.

As it was getting slightly better, i never heaved so hard with nothing to come of it in my 51 years. Brutal 💩

Doctor told her yesterday that this is going around so beware.

Good morning ☀️

There’s rain today so the garden will grow and the grass gets greener.

I canceled my chiropractor appt so I dont get anyone sick, nobody wants this thing.

I may get the ATV tires mounted but no rush.

Headache and general weakness still have me in their clutches.

Have a great Monday folks

Take care of yourself @ponykilr !

Woke up this morning and went to work. Forgot that we shut the production down bc of the chip shortage. Seeing this 3000+ employee facility without anyone in the parking lot had me question my sanity for a second.

Pros : I was able to park right in front of the entrance, which never happens
Cons : We need to make cars to make money...

I want to start a tradition such as this with my daughter maybe when she is a little older. This is awesome!

I've actually been seriously looking for something new (Expedition or Navigator), the pickins have been slim on new and keeping 2-3 year old stuff pretty high. I keep being told production is down and 'chips' are being reallocated to bread and butter vehicles. I'm curious what will happen with all the 99.9% complete vehicles that are just sitting. Will the market flood and blowout the pricing. Or can we expect to see more shut downs, throttling production, and the vehicles sitting will be the only new inventory. I'd assume at this point 2022's are being built, but there has to be some un-chipped 21's sitting in storage lots, right?

Cars are sold before hitting the lots. The less cars in the circuit, the higher the prices. No way there will be a market flood.
Lots more throttling to come.

Just a heads up - its totally worth it, but it's not cheap. When you look at the annual cost, its around $800-1k every year. More than we spend on TV. By the time she graduates high school I could have bought a car. All those meals out add up.

Maybe we will just go once a month then.... I just want to make sure I do something that she likes so hopefully she will WANT to keep the tradition going and not feel obligated just to make me happy.

My wife doesn’t like Chinese, so my daughter‘s and my thing was to periodically go eat Chinese together. Cost didn’t matter.

Mine want to cook breakfast with me, which we do most every Sunday. Working the kinks out of the pancake recipe has been pretty fun and I think we have it down now.

The oldest two are working on their flipping technique with eggs and pancakes. I'm working on my standing back and sipping coffee technique.

Daddy daughter dates are my favorite...easily do one a month with each of my girls. Full awn prep, I'll get dressed up, they'll get dressed up...they even get to use some of mommy's makeup some times. And we'll go where ever they want to go. Some times that's Chic-Fil-A, some times it really is some place fancy, some times it's just snow cones...but it's always their choice. And I hope it teaches them how they're supposed to be treated and how they're supposed to behave in turn.

It wasn't so bad when she was little and just ate half a kids plate. I'd order eggs and coffee, and eat her leftovers. She loved playing with the bowl of ceamer packets... making towers etc our of them.
Then she started eating more. and more. and more.... now I eat half mine, she eats hers and my other half, lol.

What matters is consistency. When they're little they have no sense of time or weeks anyway, so you have some leeway there. But if you make it last Sunday of teh month or whatever, that is fine.
And it helps if she hears of you concelling other things to do it, that means a lot. At least later when they are older and understand the notion of plans.

Good morning ☀️

Stomach is 90% better today and I even had my coffee 😊

Found yesterday while I finished mounting the new tires for the Polaris Sportsman that the rear wheel bearings were shot....no really they fell out as pieces of cage and individual balls LOL when I took them apart.

Remarkably the housing wasn’t too boogered up and CV was fine too other than the clamp on the outer boot being loose.

Guess its ok, it’s a 2001, 20 years is long enough for wheel bearings. Got all parts coming from Caltric on Amazon plus a front hub seal thats been leaking a little. Hope the old beast is good for another 20 years. I know Polaris is bleh but I can’t part with the old thing, it’s family.

My grandson loves to ride on it with me almost as much as the tractors.

He was sporting his Jeep yesterday.

Good morning, today is the first time since Sunday that I haven't felt like death. Our 9 month old is feeling better also and my pregnant wife is starting to feel better.

Not sure what we had but I'm glad it's moving on.

Congrats! How's mama feeling?

Good morning! I finally got a good night's rest and had no trouble getting up at 5:30 to get my workout in. Its a sunny and @jeepinmatt even invited me to go to lunch today :) It's going to be a good day!
Watch yur bunghole!

Going to look at a TJ late this afternoon.

The adult in me says “buy a ‘normal’ daily driver” but the hoon in me…

We had 2 in 20 months and then three in 3.5 years, so I can sympathize with the whirlwind. You won't know any different and neither will they.

Ours are the best of friends. They argue and fuss but they take care of each other and now they have a baby to argue over.
