Grease burners and biodiesel makers

Same logic as farm/ohv desiel not being street legal.
The state wants their $$. And if you're using their resources - who can blame them.

What about someone who drives an electric car? I think there should be an exemption for people who use alternative fuels. Without some sort of incentive, there is no motivation to use sometning other than fossil fuels.

No...it's ok to drive a future toxic waste dump around, god forbid someone burns waste oil and the gov. not get their dime.

The Restaurants that rid of their WVO, where do they dispose of it? Who gets it? What do the recipients of the WVO do with the grease? Are they taxed for disposing of the WVO?

they are paid a small sum and then your favorite Fido eats it....

Basically, the restaurant is paid a LITTLE for their waste oil, and then it gets processed into dog food. It really depends on the place, and the deal that they have going with the folks that pick it up.

After Being in the Restaurant Bus and Mom and Dad just sold it after about 30+ years they pay to have it picked up just like the trash each week and you must have it picked up from someone that has permits to do so....
They made no money off it and if they gave it all away the people that pick it up would turn them in an get a fine for dumping it.
Maybe other states are different but who knows.

What I'm wondering here and getting at is if the WVO disposal/recycle people are paying taxes on whatever they do with the grease...

My mom used to work from one of the largest around Carolina By-Products... I believe their top consumers of WVO & beef tallow were Maybelline, MAx Factor, etc...

What did YOU think lipstick was made of? (besides tons of waxes, pigment, etc  )

They were getting hosed then, I have several friends that own resturants and bars that all get paid by Carolina Byproducts for their waste oil. They used to have to pay for pick up, then it was free, within the last two years they were paid, not much, but they were paid.

Lets back up, No, they were not getting hosed. There is a lot that goes in to it. Location, amount of grease, pickup, and so on. Stick to the stuff you know. Remember I said over 30 + Years....They got out last summer. You need to rent the grease container in some cases, then charged for pickups then the credit you back for grease and for them it was something that cost them a little all the time. Now if you are in a big area and several places pick it up then you can pick the deal, of the 5 rest. I worked as manager in the Raleigh area we broke even , but that was several 55 gal drums a week they picked up, and several years ago.
